ALBERTO PALOSCHI ? Loic Remy ? SWANSEA City were on the brink of signing Salomon Rondon in a deal worth over £10 million in the summer. The Evening Post understands Swansea had lined up the bumper package for the Venezuelan international frontman when it appeared Bafetimbi Gomis was on his way to Dubai in July. But when Gomis's £6 million move to Al Ahli broke down at the last minute, Swansea pulled the plug on their bid to land Rondon. Instead the Zenit St Petersburg forward ended up joining West Bromwich Albion a couple of weeks later for a fee of around £12 million. Rondon was set to face Swansea when the Baggies visit on Boxing Day, but he is suspended for the game after being sent off as Tony Pulis's team were beaten by Bournemouth last weekend. Swansea, meantime, are thought to be eyeing moves for another striker in January having struggled for goals so far this season. Gomis has come close to leaving in each of the two transfer windows since he joined the club. - EP LINK: http://www.southwales-eveningpost.c...l-Bafetimbi/story-28402352-detail/story.html? I CANNOT WAIT TO SEE A NEW STRIKER PUT GO-MISS ON THE BENCH......
Alberto Paloschi , 25 year old Chievo striker . 6 million plus bonuses. Could be a gem , maybe not but I like the price including bonuses if we're successful .
Why put a 1,000,000 loan bid on a player of questionable determination and give him back when we can put that money toward someone we own and maybe , and that's a big maybe these days at the club , make a bit of money down the road . No reward without risk .
I doubt if we are going to get a striker already in the PL so it is either lower leagues or overseas (again). If overseas, please not an African.
why not? I'd do anything for someone like Odion Ighalo to be in our side right now. You wouldn't want Aubameyang leading the line right now? Sadio Mane, Yacine Brahimi, Asamoah Gyan.....just a few off the top of my head that are better players than we currently have as a "striker"
I'll get i'll get my coat!!. What an absolute clown I am!! Apologies Musty and everyone else! Though there won't be a tournament in Jan 2016, it's the following year
I like Remy, think he is a class striker and certainly and improvement on we have got. his goal scoring record is pretty good also, I wouldn't be disappointed with that as a signing, there are not that many out there who would want to come to us in the situation we are in.
! don't care who the striker is as long as he's a team player, can bring other players into the game, doesn't move like the walking dead and has an eye for goal. Well it is Christmas!
McBurnie has been recalled from Newport 9 days early , probably going to make the bench and see a few minutes over this festive period . Maybe more minutes and even a start depending on how we are doing in the table by mid January . Good expierence for him and who knows , might pop a few in . Good move till a new a striker comes through the door .
I doubt we will use the youngster in the first team, we are not that forward thinking, mind Curtis is in charge so you never know, anyone would be better than the current Donkey we have upfront............
http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/35173056 Curtis saying that we are targeting a new striker in January.
Wanna bet , 5 years ago Halifax bought Vardy for 15 ,000 pounds , 2 years later Leicester got him for 1,000,000 pounds ......sometimes ,,scenarios permitting , a few minutes is enough to get a player firing on all cylinders . Gomis isn't cutting it , Ader is still out , who knows with Emnes any more and the window doesn't open for 3 games . Ayew could go in the window . I think McBurnie is on a fast track to at least make the bench and come on for the last 15 minutes in certain games . Then I guess we and he will see where we and he go from there .
