Not sure what that last sentence is even supposed to mean but I agree most of his assists this season have been good passes. It means there's no need for fapping when he plays a three yard square pass which someone else happens to smash in from 30 yards

Still think the bloke needs to score more himself to merit the status some bestow upon him, but that's just one man's opinion.

I tend to agree. There are assists, and then there are visionary assists. The ones that make a goal possible that would not have been on, but for the intelligence of the pass.

I think Özil is a wonderful player but personally I think all this stats nonsense is a load of ballocks. The only stats important in a game of football are the goals for and against. The statisticians will tell you Man City had more possession, created more chances and had more shots on target during last night's game but we had the most important stat.As someone said on the radio last week,'stats are a product of the "Football Manager" generation'

The point was that no, yesterday, it wasn't. That's not knocking Ozil. It's knocking those who bow at his feet and proclaim him the next Best.

Ozil is a truly wonderful player, his assists record speaks for itself, but the thing that stands out for me with him is that nine times out of ten he always makes the right decision when he has the ball, and the weight of his passes are nigh on perfection, he also brilliant off the ball, which not many people actually notice, he is constantly moving to find the perfect position to play that killer pass.

Di Maria had the second highest number of assists in the league last season (I think). Having watched every United game I can tell you that he was crap in all but a handful of them!

Arsenal are in a great place to win the league this season. They are the only one of the "big" clubs that is anything close to stable so in some respects their main challengers are Leicester City.

  10. Stats are an important analytical tool for coaches, but yes, all of it comes down to winning the game and finishing as high up the table as possible.

Hazard winning the PFA player of the year last year was a joke.

    Agree.

If Arsene does not win the league this season with Chelsea ****, United ordinary and city so inconsistent, he truly is the failure specialist

Mourinho for being sacked by Chelsea twice will always be the specialist in failure to me :)

And for calling Wenger a specialist in failure right before he won the FA cup and Mourinho won **** all. That was the ultimate specialist in failure comment. :)

Might sound biased, but Sanchez.....But even having said that, I'd have other players ahead of Hazard, like Kane etc.....But if you look at Sanchez vs Hazard, Sanchez had more goals to mention quite a few of those Hazard goals came from penalties, not sure about the assists but i'm sure they'd be close, heck Sanchez might have more, and then you look at work rate, Hazard doesn't even come close.

I also thought Sanchez was the best player in the league last season. This season Rooney is nailed on to win Player of the Year.

Sanchez took the league by storm last year. Injuries and fatigue have hampered this season, but I'm still backing him to come back in Jan and get back to his best, hopefully to help us win the league <ok>

I'd agree with CFC. If Whinger can't win the title this year, he'll never win it. City's defense is pure ****e. Utd are all over the place, and Chelsea are too far behind now.

Neither Spurs not Liverpool are at the stage to make a challenge. I'd just love to see Leicester win it. What a smack in the balls for all the big spenders!
