Mahrez got two goals again at the weekend ... that's 6 goals and an assist in his last 3 games ... it's all relative ... Ozil is relatively second ... still good mind

 

Ozil is the number 1 creative midfielder not in the EPL alone at the moment, but in all of Europe, .

 

Whilst Mahrez is the number 1 midfielder ... Ozil still quite good mind ...

 

Hey don't mind, Mahrez will be with us next season, so I won't need to debate you on him being the best

 

I doubt it ... not saying we won't sell but if he keeps going as he is I think it will be to PSG, Barca, Real or Bayern ... how about these for stats:

Eden Hazard 2014/15:
14 goals, 10 assists - PFA Player Of The Season

Riyad Mahrez 2015/16:
13 goals, 7 assists... And it's only Christmas!!

 

I rekon we could be in for a cheeky bid on Mahrez. Possibly Vardy, too, as part of a double-swoop.

As close to being a midfielder as Ozil is.

I've said it before but these assist stats are a lot of bollocks. If it's a great cross or through ball which required some great vision then fair enough. If it's a three yard pass which anyone could have made it's a bit different. Like praising a player for scoring 20 a season when ten are penalties and ten are tapped in from a yard.

Obviously some of Ozil (and Mahrez') assists are the former. The ones which are the latter aren't worth much discussion IMO

That's clearly not what I said. Why is there this need to get defensive over Ozil?

If Messi had scored 500 tap-ins and nothing else then he'd be overrated. Given he scores all sorts of goals he's not.

 

It's the same with ozil though. Rarely are his assists run of the mill passes, but instead tend to be brilliant pieces of play where he finds the right pass at the right time. He is a true architect of the game.
