Great 1st half. We soaked up a bit of City pressure without them ever looking too dangerous and then unloaded on their asses !
2 shots on target, 2 goals, that's what you call clinical. Now let's keep our shape, discipline, City will go for it now, but that plays to our advantage.
Great first half. Soaked up City early prssure, scored first to shift momentum to our hands then nicked a 2nd on the counter. Excellent
What great first half. I'm really surprised how good we looked in terms of being solid and offensively dangerous.
2-0. HT. A near enough perfect first half. We've not overcomitted men forward, we've been disciplined, well-organised, distributed the ball well and we've only had two shots in that half and scoree from both of them. For all of City's possession, they've done bugger all with it, aside from that one lapse in concentration from Koscielny which de Bruyne nearly scored from. Yaya Toure's done nothing, Fernandinho has been ineffective, Flamini has done a number on Silva and Aguero has been well-marshaled by our centre-halves. Impressive stuff though. Clinical Arsenal in a big game! More of that in the second half, please.
Yep, we need to be disciplined in the 2nd half and make sure we defend, but with Campbell and Walcott on the pitch we have a brilliant chance for the counter.
With Ozil picking them out at will of course. Having those two is all well and good, but you need someone to find them. Class player.
#qualitystriker does it again! He loves to score against City! 2-0 up at half time, great position to be in. We have worked hard, kept our shape well defensively. Kosc has been on Aguero and flamini on silva making sure they don't get time on the ball which has worked really well. We've limited them to back passes and possession along the halfway line for most of the game so far and they've only had a couple of openings. We are following there runs well at the moment. A solid defensive display and good counter attacking. There isn't a single player I'd rather see on the ball during a counter than Ozil, he always seems to find the right pass. Walcotts goal was immense, what a finish, Ozil ducked under it which had me laughing at the replay. They had no chance of stopping that, a proper wonder strike. We need to keep it up in the second half, don't loose our shape, keep pressing and keep up the energy. That's what will win us this game, we have to match the energy and work rate from the first half.
Oh and I can't believe City haven't had more yellow cards, they've been cynically fouling us every single time we try to break. And how Kolorov hasn't had a card is beyond me, he has made multiple fouls and hit Campbell in the face...
I can't believe City's defending for the 2nd goal. Why on earth would you give Ozil the freedom of the Emirates to turn and find a pass? 99 times out of 100 that's going to result in a goal with the form he's in.
Sterling on, we will have more defending, but if we keep it tight, compact, and sit deep, City can't get behind us, making players like Sterling ineffective.
Nice info on BBC: Özil's 14 assists this season more than highest amount from Bergkamp, Gerrard & Mata in a whole BPL season
I'm loving how everyone id dropping back to form a hardworking 5 man midfield when we lose the ball and giving them no space to play in
Apparently Ozil already has 29 Prem League assists in his career, in 29 less games than Hazard *Stat courtesy of BBC
