Lallana

  1. Plus a decent defence. Usual story though, we lacked creative wide players.

    Lallana is hilarious.

The one trick is cruyff turn on the half way line.

The hair and one trick convinced Rodgers to pay 25mil.

    Ah well....

Let's say this.... yossi benayoun was a useful sub to rafa, yossi knew how to get in the box and so does lallana.

Is it fair to say that yossi was 5mil and lallana 5 times more.. sick inflation these days :bandit:

Poor lallana needs everyone else to play the plan to be effective. We need lads go for the press as a unit and he is a willing enough lad.

Not his fault he's not a cl player. It's ours.

If we stop over playing it and just not being in good positions this would improve.

In the first half for instance moreno thought he was a striker or forest gumption or something cos he was so far in advance of his position sahko was never getting a pass to him.

You should only need one touch then pass. Holding it should be rewarded with a thumb up the but hole in training.... we were so ridiculous in positioning and there were rarely 3/4 passes strung together as by the time the second was played there was nobody else bar passing it back to where it came from.

  6. And when Sakho could pass it, Moreno had to give it straight back because the defender was too tight as a result of being so high up the pitch.

But that's when you need your midfielders to provide options to both the centre backs and full backs. Klopp laid into Lucas for not moving when Moreno had the ball.

  8. true but if both FBs push so high up then there is less space for players to run into. And before you say you meant players coming to the ball too, I know you did but you need others to make runs to move the opposition around to create space for that too.

I like the FBs to get forward but I think they should have a deeper starting position and join the attacks rather than being part of the initial attack (if you understand that)

    Yep fair point.

I haven't got a problem with the full backs advancing that high just as long as we're not exposed. The midfield really let us down yesterday. Without a quality midfield, our defence is exposed and the attack don't get the ball. It's an area we have neglected since the likes of Mash, Sissoko, Alonso left and Gerrard declined.

    He's a decent player.

He hasn't performed to his potential for us thus far and needs to quickly if he is to have a lot term career at LFC.

Its the final ball/shot which is letting him down.

Your opinions are interesting considering a couple of Saints fans I know loved him before he left.

Granted they thought we overpaid but they thought he was quality and proven through the ranks.

    Bang on <ok>

We're soft as ****e and generally lacking in quality in key areas.

Maybe. Or maybe Lallana just doesn't have the intelligence to see the pass in the first place?

He's a squad player at best for a team targeting the top four.

Is that why he doesn't seem to see Benteke in space?

I think he does see him. But chooses not to pass to him. Possibly because Benteke is ****.
