Personally I can't see it Kemps, but you never know, they're quite ruthless. Perhaps the most damning statistic against Steve Bruce at the moment is the fact that we're precisely one game short of being halfway through the season and he still doesn't appear to know his best eleven, and even if he did he almost certainly wouldn't play them in their most effective positions! He desperately drops Huddlestone then reinstates him, makes him captain, then immediately drops him again. To me, and probably to the Allam's, these are definite signs of a manager who is struggling to cope, and struggling to find a recipe for acceptable performances. Not great signs for owners who NEED to get the article that they have for sale back into the league that it needs to be in. As I said, you never know, much stranger things have happened.
I don't like teams sacking the managers all the time but you only have to look at premier league teams last year that sacked there manager and it helped them survive. How Bruce is still here, is more about stupidity than faith. Only Leicester survived by keeping the same manager. Sunderland survive by sacking their managers each year. I understand Bruce is maybe the best man to get us backup up but I'm starting to believe even this looks too bigger task for him. The reason we are 4th is based more on the squad we have than the manager! Infact I believe Bruce is stopping this hull team from flourishing!
He needs to be getting the best out of huddlestone and Diame them two alone should be enough to beat most sides , the fact is he has them looking like lower league players
He clearly doesn't know how to play Huddlestone and never has and doesn't know how to motivate many of his players. And I don't like Bruce in the PL because he fears the opposition too much. Needs to go I'm afraid!
It is definitely time he moved on now. For too long we haven't played well, there's no plan B and he's spent 58m on a team that couldn't beat Rotherham.
To lose to Leeds, Rotherham,Charlton isnt right and we have looked poor against teams like Bristol, reading etc. Yes we beat Middlesborough but maybe we were up for that game! Bruce seems to be able to get the team ready well against North East clubs. At the end of the day, we haven't played well for nearly 2 years. Pundits last year, looked at our squad and said Hull WILL be safe but they were wrong, because either Bruce has lost the players or his tactics just aren't working. Leicester don't Have the greatest players, but they have a great attitude mixed now with tactics. If Bruce stays, Allam might aswell call the club Yo Yo Tigers!
This is the key for me. Everyone looked at our squad and thought we'd done really well building it and would kick on. We started poorly but were repeatedly assured, mainly by the more positive fans, that it'd be OK, we'll be fine, loads of worse teams than us, injuries etc but to me something obviously wasn't right even back then. I believed we'd turn it around at some point with the talent available but it didn't happen and we eventually got worse and worse until eventually being deservedly relegated. Then we were told don't worry we'll turn it around and be back again soon. We kept the squad together so expectations are high. It's still not happening though. It's still exactly the same as those games early last season like Southampton, WBA and Swansea at home. This all came about quite suddenly. For the first few games of last season we were alright, and all of the season before that we competed well in the PL and never really played badly. Something changed last Autumn where we totally stopped attacking teams and its continued for over a year. We don't seem to know how to get out of this slump. It's not just form, it's the whole way the team plays. You never feel confident that we're gonna score. You can see the players are desperate to make something happen but they're not sure how. It absolutely isn't a lack of effort or application. That's a lazy accusation. The reason I'd like to see a new manager now is that we look so much like teams do before they change manager and suddenly get a new lease of life. Villa under Lambert is one example. They suddenly got miles better overnight when Showroom took over. I'm convinced we'd do the same if Bruce did go.
I was really hoping to have got home from work today and come to find a thread about Bruce having gone. ****. Thats hacked my day off..
Agreed! A new manager is overdue, just watched the post match interview and Bruce seems to shrug it off and put It down to a bad afternoon, we havent had a good afternoon for a while, have we got to the point where we are looking at one team that weve played well against! (mboro)
I agree, we would push on if he went. Bruces shelf-life has expired and the tragedy of it is if he stays this season we won't go up and that could mean the Football League for many years to come
