Good Morning Everyone, An own goal at the beginning of the second half was enough to hand Leeds all 3 points. against a spirited Preston side. Preston went down to 10 men after their keeper was adjudged to handle the ball outside his area. He was replaced by a 17 year old lad. Fortunately the lad didn't have any saves to make, apart from picking the ball out of his own net when one of his defenders headed the ball past him. To say the ref was a homer, is an understatement. He booked half the Preston team, and ignored it when Taylor rugby tacked one of his opponents that had broken away. Even Kilkenny looked dangerous for Simon Grayson's men when he came on midway through the second half. I know Wood is getting into the right positions, but his finishing is woeful at best. He has to be able to score 3/4 chances when one on one with a keeper, nit 0/4. please log in to view this image
Morning Matt and all. I don't give a rats ass what the performance was, points on the board is all that counts. We get 3 for the hull win, got 3 for Derby and same for yesterday. We're five points ahead of last season at same point and seemingly five places too. Maybe someone can confirm that. If correct, Evans is doing a fine job. A nice positive build up to the festive season for Leeds fans. Spare a thought for the scummers and victimpoolers opening their Pressies Xmas morning and getting sick on their new jerseys
Morning troops. Not the greatest performance ever, but 3pts is 3pts. We're moving up the league. All we need now is for Cellino to splash a bit of cash and see where we can get to. Top 6 is ow a possibility. But we need Wood or AN Other to start scoring a few more. We also need Bridcutt or similar signed up
Only listened to it on the radio, but it sounded to me that PNE were the stronger side with 10 men, we dont know how to stretch teams with 10 men, as soon as they replaced the keeper and took there forward off we should of moved up one in every department and demolished them, and yes Woods has to pull his socks up............quickly.
Even Chippy will have to agree it is nice putting together our relegation saving run before Christmas this year, certainly my cat is happier!
Agreed......... But lets get to 52 points before celeberating too much. Another poor run of results would still drag us back into the mire. I am sure we all agree that if Cook, Sam and Bridcutt were to leave and not be replaced with some quality we would slide down the table again........ Is that a fair comment?
How so. The ball appears not to be touching his hand and no way of knowing its direction of travel. Its a bit of an optical illusion there could be 6" from ball to hand in the snap. Not saying was or it wasnt handball BTW but the photo proves nothing.
You couldn't be happier.... If we had all agreed there would be no one to point at and poke with sticks.
Indeed but you would hope we could get another 20 points before those in the bottom 3 get another 30 - they are there for a reason too
Our next match is next Sunday at home to Derby. If we have any pretentions of making top 6, we need the whole side fit, Evans choosing the shame of the time, probably 4141, & for Wood to start contributing more than he has been.
Morning All, I would have sworn blind that the 'keeper handled the ball outside of the area until I watched the video that Ell posted. I watched it time & time again, and yet I still couldn't tell you if he chested it or used his hand. It's academic anyway if it is hand ball, as Wood headed it into him from a very short distance, so it's clearly not a hand ball offence, whether he touched it or not. To me, he got his marching orders because he took out Wood without touching the ball first, and he was last man taking out someone with a goal-scoring opportunity. Straight red! One thing I did notice at the game was that the linesman's flag shot up straight away. It was his decision, not the refs. And I think he got it right. Kilkenny was not dominant in any way. He was absolutely average & did not stand out. I was so hoping that someone would crunch into him. He's always been a windbag & would have gone into 'hide' mode if someone had roughed him up a little. I was screaming for someone to do it. I can't remember him ever making a tackle for us, and he clearly hasn't changed. The ref wasn't a homer, btw. Every one of those bookings was earned, and there should have been a few more. Byram for one, for diving so inelegantly on the wing right in front of me. Love it when we get away with blatant stuff. How often does that happen? As for playing aganst 10 men - often it's not an advantage, as the 10 men go negative & concentrate on not losing. There was a bit of that on Sunday, plus Evans has put his hands up & said it was a mistake to take Murphy off. He invited pressure in so doing. I was impressed by his honesty - and he was dead right! To be fair to him though, it could hav gone the other way. It's nice to win games like this. We should enjoy it the same way that Boro fans must have enjoyed beating us.

Ex-Leeds United managing director David Haigh pleaded not guilty to cyber slander at a Dubai hearing on Monday. Mr Haigh, 38, had been due to complete a two-year prison sentence in Dubai for financial misappropriation. He says he could not have committed the alleged Twitter offence while in jail. The authorities in Dubai and the investment bank at the centre of the social media complaint have both so far not commented on the matter. The maximum penalty for cyber slander is three years in prison and a fine of up to £5,500. The social media case was adjourned until 4 January. Mr Haigh's solicitor said his client will not seek bail as he is already under a sentence of deportation so would be considered a flight risk. please log in to view this image Image captionPhotograph of David Haigh in prison The Yorkshire-born solicitor and businessman had expected to return to the UK on 16 November, after serving 18 months behind bars. He was originally arrested in Dubai on 18 May last year, when he was detained without charge for 14 months and had his worldwide assets frozen. In August 2015, he was convicted of misappropriating items of monetary value from a position of trust from his former Dubai-based employer and sentenced to two years in prison - the majority of which he had already served. Mr Haigh's lawyer says he is considering seeking a retrial of his criminal conviction. The former vice-chairman of the Gulf Tories had said that after returning to the UK he would campaign for Britons unfairly imprisoned around the world. 'Scared and frightened' The new complaint is from Mr Haigh's former employer, investment bank Gulf Finance House (GFH), and referred to remarks made on Twitter. Mr Haigh was the deputy chief executive of GFH Capital Limited, a fully-owned subsidiary of GFH, before resigning on 10 March last year. Mr Haigh strongly denies the latest allegations against him. When contacted by the BBC, GFH Capital Limited declined to comment. GFH is an investment bank headquartered in Bahrain with an office in Dubai that once owned Leeds United Football Club and continues to hold a 25% stake in the club. Speaking to the BBC from his police cell last week, Mr Haigh said he felt scared, frightened and worried. When asked if he sent the tweets in question from his @haighdavid account, he said: "Absolutely not. I was held in a jail in Dubai." He insisted he did not have access to a computer. Tweets on the account are written in the third person and the account description states it is "managed for ex Leeds Utd FC MD while he remains in a Dubai jail". Local authorities have so far not commented on the case despite repeated requests from the BBC. Radha Stirling, chief executive of British-based group Detained in Dubai - which helps foreigners abroad - warned the UAE judicial system was still in development and the burden of proof on the complainant or prosecution, is quite low. Ms Stirling told the BBC: "Without necessary safeguards in place, this legislation is open to abuse by disgruntled parties or parties who have an alternative agenda. "This can render the respondent stuck in the UAE until the matter is resolved." She said in some cases that could take months or even years. The UAE government has reported that millions of tweets are sent in the UAE every day by hundreds of thousands of users. Strict and wide-reaching guidelines prohibit the publication of content "which is contrary to public morals, the principles of Islam and the social and moral welfare of the UAE". Cyber crime laws were introduced in the UAE in 2012 to make it an offence to use the internet to mock or deride organisations and individuals. Ms Stirling said the new laws have increased the number of queries from Britons in relation to slander accusations by 150% in the past year. In March, an expat American was jailed for comments he made on Facebook. The British Foreign Office confirmed that Mr Haigh is still in Dubai. A Foreign Office spokesman said: "We have been providing assistance to a British national detained in Dubai since May 2014, including regular visits to check on his welfare."
If Ranieri like Wilko all those years ago can say lets get the number of points to guarantee safety and then look where we are so can we now. Ranieri said it only last week. At least one of the bottom three will go on a run happens nearly every year in every division. If Bolton dont go into admin I expect it to be them.... Siege menatality can take you a long way .
