Interesting, he's been doing well for the stiffs, but he doesn't look anywhere near as good as Olley or Luer, not yet anyway.
I've actually seen Conor Townsend play twice recently… ( I was drugged by someone to go to GTFC ) but he's done really well and has scored one or two fantastic free kicks. Check them out on you tube
Now I understand why Bruce has no time for him, what the **** does he think he's playing at, scoring from freekicks will never get him close to our first eleven, if he starts shooting straight into the wall he'll maybe give himself a chance. FFS!
But can he defend? Can he go forward like Robbo? Can he tackle? Does he have pace? Would a Championship team put 3 players in a wall? Is he someone who could challenge Robbo for the LB position? It's not like American Football where you just bring a player on for set pieces!
It seems a far off dream to most on here that we'd get the chance of a cold Tuesday night in Stoke, unless we get relegated and play Port Vale!
I think you need rather more about your game than the ability to score with a free kick in the Conference and the club seem to think he hasn't got it.
Well, given some of our recent players performances, he's probably ahead of them on the basis that he can score. Maybe some of the other facets too, as let's be honest most of the team aren't really showing much to shout about at the moment.
