1. Since when is Henry Winter writing for the Times? 2. I always had you down as more of a dailystar type person 3. Tell Diego to get a ****ing avatar
1. Can you believe he did a radio advert, advertising the fact he was now at the Times. Sounded wooden as a plank as well. 2. I don't read newspapers anymore. If I want bad news, I just have to watch us play (if I want good news, I just have to watch you play ) 3. Diego, doesn't listen to me anymore... tbf, that to me is now HIS avatar.
He claims he said it on another forum... years ago allegedly. It would be genius if anyone give a sh1t
Haha, that's such a Henry Winter thing to do. He is the Brendan Rodgers of journalism. You deserve the good news for watching 90 minutes of us playing, to be fair, our last 5 or 6 games have been total rubbish, massive lack of quality all round. True, maybe I'll just call him 'newbie' until he changes it, because its only trolls or newbies that have that avatar.
Good idea but I think DGC's probably beaten you to it. He also predicted the rise of Hitler and 9/11 as well.
On nights again. Got up to watch the match - tried to sleep for a few hours afterwards. Not worth doing a ratings, I think, but none would have got over 5, and most, including the manager, were in the 3 bracket. Just some observations though - Skrtel, owned again by a big, physical forward. He looked relieved to go off. Sakho - won every ball in the first half, dreadful in the second playing as a lone centre-back in a back one. After a false start, Cline has finally reached our level. Who, on God's green earth, would pick Firmino and Lallana above Ibe? So it's all Brendan's fault for leaving crap players? Well, the only 5/6 I'd keep in the long-run are Sakho (dreadful as he was), Can, Hendo, Coutinho (if he stays), Ibe and Studge (in hope rather than expectation). Oh, and obviously Origi, who has some potential. Lallana is the the very epitome of Powder-Puff, Firmino is somehow making Markovic look decent, and we can't blame Benteke for this. And no, before that Watford poster chips in about our expectations, I don't think we have a divine right to beat Watford - I predicted we'd lose. Not like that though - it could (and should) have been another Stoke 1-6. Without the 1. I can only gaze longingly at Palace and Watford as teams that we aspire to be, never mind top four. Take that skiing break, Jurgen. I don't think you'll want to be here for the Boxing Day massacre Leicester will inflict (1-4, I say). We'll draw with Sunderland and draw at West Ham, too. Take stock in January and see what you can buy, but you can't replace the whole squad, or even that shocking defence. If anyone wants Benteke then sell (it's not his fault, but it isn't going to happen) and give them Lallana for free. See if anyone will take Firmino too (I'd prefer Naismith - he makes better runs). We're mid-table, at best, this season. Let's hope we get lucky in one of the cups. But it looks like Bayern and Madrid will be available at the end of the season, and if you haven't shat on your copybook here in two-thirds of a season (though some decisions and selections yesterday were puzzling) I don't think anyone would hold it against you for running before we drag you down.
Dirty Klopp nailed it earlier - this squad is infected. The keeper, Skrtel and Lucas are the 'Unholy' Trinity who have been mainstays in our team over the past few years and are a big reason for our failure. Senior players like these are continuously making the same errors week in week out. They cannot improve nor can they be coached. Klopp was completely laying into Lucas during the match for not moving or playing quick enough. Lucas provides no protection for the defence. The defence then panic and provide little defence for the keeper. It's all a mess.
Yup. The errors are, though not exclusively, down to poor team play. Their second was.... the second v newkie and sadly third v Watford were down to complete disintegration of systems and chasing lost causes.
He moved Lucas to CB, was that Lucas's fault as well like? You were a complete shambles yesterday, from back to front. The manager has to take responsibility for that performance as he got his selections, tactics and in match management completely wrong.
You're right - it's not Lucas's fault that he's been gash for the past 7 years. Klopp will have to take some responsibility considering he's inherited an incredibly imbalanced squad and this season is effectively his 'pre-season'. His selection was spot on in my book - who else could he have played? Perhaps started with Ibe and Origi? The in-match management was poor but it wasn't helped by two awful errors in the first 15 mins which completely changed the dynamics of the game and killed off the spirit. Put it this way - you're right that Klopp has to take some responsibility but he's way down the list of things/people to blame.
