I get that but I love being above Chelsea and if we could maintain that all season I'd be delighted! I don't care about the mackems to be honest, pointless club, I dont really get happy when they lose because I just expect it, they're supposed to be our rival, I find that embarressing, they need to get to our level before they can be considered our rival!
In answer to how many points for survival think it could be about 35 or 36 but then it could be a lot higher. For instance who thought two games ago that Newcastle and Bournemouth would be above Chelsea.
I reckon two points more than we will achieve. The two lost points against the Vile may yet come back to haunt us. DeJong, Gini and Mitro?
You could look at it that way. Or we could finish 2 points ahead of the bottom three due to the last min winner we got against spurs. Swings and roundabouts, if we had of drawn with spurs and beaten villa we would have been delighted I'm sure.
After yesterday's wins for Norwich and Bournemouth it will be more than 35 or 36 IMO. If Swansea win today 18th is a point a game and the bottom teams usually get more points after Christmas.
Said it previously, Southampton are dropping like a stone and will finish in the bottom 3. Often happens to a team that finished the previous season in the upper half. Think it happened to you guys in the not too distant past. But you guys, like West Ham, have the DNA to bounce back first time.
its quite the opposite of Leicester, I've seen alot of bets on Leicester being top at X-mas and like the majority of people, im thinking "how did people see this happening" but when you look at their form towards the end of last season,it makes a lot more sense. Its all about the confidence as a wise Gok Wan once said. Southampton though, they looked doomed, as do Swansea. Its the kind of season where any from 10 could probably go down or at least flirt with relegation. I see this being quite a frantic and high spending January. The TV money will ensure that, especially with the big rise at the end of this year/next year. Hopefully Cashely dosent gamble again because i really cant see it paying off!
