Historically, Spurs were the powerhouse team in London, to start with, and then Arsenal came to prominence. Of late, I think it's been about even - Arsenal have done nothing of note for a decade, and in that time, Spurs have regained all the ground that they lost to Arsenal. In short, we are probably seeing the kind of Power-Shift that the National papers have spoken about, occurring right in front of our eyes. I'm not sure that we can safely claim that the power-shift has yet happened, but I think we have to listen to the contrary argument, when you have the national press taking it on board.
... are you still having that same dump from the other day? .. obviously haven't quite cleared out yet ... still got a turtle head poking out your ring at the very least ..
We have won 2 major trophies, the FA Cup, in the last 2 seasons and last won the League title whilst being unbeaten in 2004, please remind me when Spurs last won either of these ? I will give you a hint 1991 and 1962 ! #deludedspuds
Yes, as I said, Spurs were the first proper London powerhouse side, then Arsenal had their day, and now it's much more even. One does get the feeling that either Spurs or Arsenal could win the league, this season.
.. infers a plural ... just remind me, who else, other than the London Evening Standard, mentioned this power shift? ... only asking because the Quorn Young Farmers Weekly has predicted that after winning the EPL this season we will probably smash the Champion's League next ... frankly I take this as complete bollox as it's only a local rag
You state that Spurs where the first proper London powerhouse! What did they actually win to give you evidence to make such a bold claim? or are making yet another one of your self styled "I like making a tit of myself" claims that you do so often
Tbf you may not have read the London Evening Standatd article which Hiag alludes to, and why would you, and nor did Hiag as the article actually poured scorn on the notion of a Power Shift so for him to use as a point of reference is actually shooting himself in the foot ......,,,,,, again
Is that all you got ? when Hiag has no answer he resorts to the fish photos. 1991 Spurs last FA Cup win, the 25th anniversary DVD available in summer. 1962 Spurs last League Title win, the 50th anniversary DVD is already on sale
Quick HIAG, nip over to the mouser thread and do some summing there, as hasn't quite gone to plan on this thread has it
I could argue and continue "owning" on this thread, but I get so bored of the same old turkey-shoot! That's why I made that photo. It acts as a neat "full-stop" when I have caught enough tasty Gooner-fish, at the end of a session of expert wumming.
The Evening Standard article said that any talk of a power shift would have to go on hold. In fact they only used the words 'power shift' to hook in and wum gullible Spurs fans. It worked a treat
Piskie you have to feel sorry for Little Orphan Annie Hiag - he is always looking for tomorrow but never gets there, just like Spurs trying to become a big club /) you have to remember that Hiag is dreading that his worst case nightmare scenario could unfold this year - in that Arsenal win the League and Liverpool finish above them in 4th spot leaving poor orphaned Spurs looking through the window at the big clubs 1991 and 1962 is the answer to all his failed wums, perhaps you could knock up a photo to remind him
I very much doubt that Leicester will sell to anybody this season, they have too good a chance of a position in Europe. After that, we'll see. No doubt the big clubs will come looking, for Mahrez especially.
