Can't disagree with that. The best we have to fulfill the "roaming" role at the moment I would say are Maloney & Diame.
The wing backs don't overlap we have a team good enough to have 6-7 players pushing forward (leaving the keeper and two centre halves one midfielder) creating lots of options in attack. What do we we see? Almost all scared to cross the half way line - attackers working off scraps with not much support from elsewhere on the pitch. We don't seem to press the opposition from the front when they have the ball - Odubajo and Elmo yesterday were awful, there wasn't any overlapping or any real attacking intent and all the crosses from that side were of a very poor quality.
And another thing - why don't we leave at least one player up when we are defending a corner - who are we clearing the ball to?
Spot on. Truly remarkable when you think of the team Bruce played on when he made his name as a player. All out attack. He even scored a shed load himself as a centre back on that team. He seems to have forgotten all that.
Meyler and Livermore were rejects from Sunderland and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, not to mention Elmohamady and Huddlestone. I'd say City's only Premier League class player (in his own right) is Michael Dawson, and even he wasn't required by the likes of Everton or West Ham or Stoke City. The task this season was surely to gain immediate promotion back to the Premier League. But that is very short-sighted, because how long would Hull City last with this squad and with Steve Bruce in charge? It would be just as bad as Aston Villa this season, or maybe Derby a few years ago. They'd come straight back down again rubbing their arses. I've said over and again, Everton, West Ham and Stoke, though they are not top class, have nonetheless a certain quality and professionalism that runs right through their club, and that is what helps them stay up in the Premier League year after year. They always manage to pull their socks up enough to stay clear of trouble. Until Hull City aspire to that same quality and professionalism this yo-yo lark might continue until the truth hits home like it did at Portsmouth and now at Bolton. Meyler and Livermore might well do a good job in a more professional setup. In fact, this whole squad would be greater than the sum of its parts if the owners and management were up to the task. But who on earth would place their trust in owners who have stated publicly they want rid of the club, and a burned-out, has been manager who more than likely won't be around for so much longer? Meyler and Livermore? They are merely symptoms of a chronic disease at Hull City. It is called short-term speculation.
wenger didnt handle him.i think quinn just tired.he hadn't played a lot of games.he was brilliant that first half though
