If Benteke went to the Chavs for daft money, or even what we paid for him, we could pay a fair wack to get Mahrez, probably in the Summer. If it worked out the money we get for Beteke plus 10m it would still be good business as Benteke is no use to us and just taking a huge salary
Absolutely not He won't go in January, let's be honest, he'd be crazy to leave us in the position we're in now. In the summer, he may leave if a massive club come in for him... But he only signed a new contract in the summer, and we don't need to sell... If it were to happen, it'd be one hefty price tag! Besides, IF (and it's still a huge 'if' IMO) we qualify for the Champions League, he may not want to leave us at all...
Come summer he may want to move on, like Sterling did with us, I don't know what his character is like. Do you think he will be pushing for a move, or his agent will, or is he more of a Coutinho, i.e. settled and enjoying life and not looking for the next paycheck. Any idea what he is on per week.
I guess you can never really tell, but his character is a million miles from Sterling... He comes across very humble, and really seems to be enjoying life here. I really can't see him pushing for a move, or it getting to a point where he refuses to play for us. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...pite-Manchester-United-Arsenal-Barcelona.html
Looks like he will be staying, unless the club want to cash in on a daft bid, but with the extra money coming to all prem clubs next year why would they want to. Assuming he does not want a move looks like he is going nowhere, never mind there is always Messi !!!!
I'm convinced. Anyone that can make Vardy look that good is special! He's got a awesome left peg too, something we severely lack with Moreno being our only left footer.
Vardy had a hand in all 3 of our goals against Everton ... as he did against Swansea .. you do him a disservice .. that's 6 goals and he didn't score any of them ... been typical of his season ... and why we have scored in every game and currently are the EPLs top scorers .... typical of the team tbf ... they all do what is asked of them ... and the sum of the parts is far outweighing the individual components ...
you make good points ... as I see it, I don't see us selling him unless he (or his agent) push for a move ... times have changed for us ... our owners are fabulously wealthy in their own right so we don't need to sell to sustain the business model .. indeed our current 'success' is reaping far more financial rewards for our owners, King Power, than selling our 'prize assets' would ... because it is the best marketing that King Power could have dreamt of in terms of brand promotion ... especially in South East Asia ...and for them it seems to be far more about 'kudos' than financial success ... Great times to be a Leicester City fan ...we've won our last 4 away games scoring 3 in each ... that's fookin dream land for us ... we have no fear because even when the opposition are on top (as Everton were for long periods) ...we know we will put the fear of god into them when we have the ball and are bombing down on their goal ... looking forward to our game on boxing day ... don't see it as a boring 0-0 ... but you never know with football ... as our current lofty height more than demonstrates ..
with our defence i certain it won't be 0-0 on Vardy saw a report on telly quote "Leicester scored 3 and Vardy didn't score" but the highlights showed him involved in all 3 goals including winning the pen plus a very unselfish pass to Okazaki (sp) but obviously that doesn't count
.. I think he now leads the stats for 'involvement' in goals in the Prem this season ... his selfless running and commitment ... including a booking for showing Diego Costa that even our little guys won't take his **** are truly inspiring ... particularly when contrasted with Eden Hazard's comparatives in the same game
... .. joking aside Vardy epitomises what we are about ... we don't have much respect for 'Billy Big Bollocks' ... as I've said before, I've supported the docile bunch of ****s since I was 10 (1969/70 season) ... this bunch are the best I've seen in terms of us going into ANY game knowing that not only will we give it a go - whoever you are - but we will give you a right old test .. it is a mind bogglingly good time to be a Leicester City fan ... Mahrez is well worth the admission cost alone ...
Dreading boxing day tbh. I think you'll tear us apart. Vardy has been great but Mahrez as been better imo. Question time; which oneof the two would be easier to replace?
... difficult question in terms of where we are right now ... the ball from Mahrez to Vardy that got us the penalty against Everton was sublime (John Stones may still be spinning even as I write ) ... ... in broader terms ... Mahrez is now being labelled the 'Algerian Messi' ... and as ridiculous as that is, when I was talking to some lads at work pre-season (all top teams represented) and I was asked about him, I did comment that the only player I had seen with such balance and control with a left foot was indeed Lionel Messi ...I could definitely see him ending up at one of the Spanish giants ... he seems a lovely lad ... very humble and just loving his football ... I'd be way more concerned by agent influence rather than the lad himself wanting to move on any time soon ...
I think you should just enjoy it while it lasts. Two years ago I told this bunch the same thing cos Suarez was gone. The real question to you is how much are these two on in wages? When the big boys sniff round the 40mil might've good but the lad himself can't turn down 200k can he? Happens to us all. Why we are just waiting for chelsea to bid 60mil for benteke aren't we lads?
... indeed we will ... but the difference now to when you came in for Heskey (or McAllister) is that we now don't NEED to sell to balance the books ... the wages are a different matter but King Power would be able to compete on that front if they so wished ... players may get their heads turned for different reasons and no Leicester fan is naiive enough to believe that isn't possible ... but we will enjoy the ride whilst it lasts ... we have a real 'team' ... and that's just terrific.
I think you just answered how I thought you would; Mahrez is harder to replace. I like Vardy but I think he is a type that is available. Not endlessly but out there all the same. Pacey, can finish and works hard. Mahrez is one of a kind. He gives other players that extra 10%
... I'd go further .. with pride and perhaps a tinge of bias ... Mahrez is irreplaceable ... personally (remember the admission of bias) I really wouldn't swap him for any player currently plying their trade in the EPL ... and I'm still on my first glass of wine (a rather nice Rioja)
Hope you don't believe that. Cos that's how Southampton fans feel so agrieved all the time. A real team is what it seems to be and as such means anything is possible.
