I agree to a certain extent, although why he started Go Miss is beyond a joke. I know that he won`t get any goals if he`s not playing, but he also doesn`t get goals when he`s playing. If they started awarding points for being offside, we`d be way up at the top! That today was a relegated team, plenty of possession and no end result. Eder is also not the answer, although he does seem to be more energetic and put himself around more than you know who. I also trust that Curtis has enough oomph to understand that WE NEED GOALS. I don`t mind if we have to play ugly to get them, but get them we need to do. At least a clean sheet is a step in the right direction.
Two lost for me, Musty. WHU were under strength today so I'm not buying the 'clean sheet' line. Two on target at home is not good enough, despite the improved performance.
Rome wasn't burnt in a day , it took a while to get us to this state , it will take a while to build it back up . These last few starts is a darn good start . Over 70 % possession , over 20 shots , should have had a penalty, coming off a great away display at Man City , almost all the players being used ...sorry I'm happy with the positives and have no time for POSSIBLE negatives such as subs and we don't really know why Curtis made his changes but that's his job . I don't care what a million people say about them .
No I didn't miss it, but why give a through ball to Go-Miss? If I was in that team Go-miss would get no service from me, I'd sooner test the keeper myself, or give it to Fernandez............
I think Curtis took a chance on Gomis hoping his few great minutes last game might kick start him to a good start ....just a guess though
I am not a Gomis fan as you may have realized however a commentator made a comment (as they do if they commentate) when I was watching the Brighton v QPR match last week about Charlie Austin. Charlie is a great striker however he can only be as good as the service provided lets him be.
Go-miss freak goal last week was more luck than judgement, Huw needs a serious visit to supersavers after bringing Go-miss here...........
Think the stats lie a little today. Ok, we technically only had 2 shots on target (Cork's (?) volley and Ki's shot). However, we worked numerous other good chances which, while not going down as shots on target, certainly looked on target to me. Ki's shot blocked by Collins' hand for one, Ayew shooting just wide, numerous scrambles in the box where solid, well hit shots were blocked on route to goal. We played well today, worked plenty of chances and I left the stadium satisfied that we've turned a corner. The last 10/15 minutes were poorer than the rest of the game though. Did I think Monty and Barrow should've been put on at 45/60 mins? Yes. Was I frustrated it didn't happen? Yes, because I did feel there was space on the wings for our quicker players to counter attack into. But the team on the pitch put on a good display, should've won the game, didn't, but I'm happy with the effort and application of the team today. Bring on the next game.
In Gomis's last 6 games last season and his first 4 games this season , that's 10 games , Gomis scored 9 goals . Say what you want but there is a goal scoring striker in there somewhere. I'm not sure what the problem is , or if we or he can fix it but he has the potential to score at will and In my opinion Curtis was trying to get him kick started following his brilliant goal last week in his 5 minutes on the pitch . Seemed like a guality thought from Curtis considering he can't see the future and not knowing what would happen .
All of them if you ask Monk. Monks last 2 games in charge ...19 shots : 2 on target got no points and deserved none. Curtis's first 2 games in charge ...34 shots : 9 on target got 1 point and deserved 4. Wonder where Routledge was today , seemed a bit odd .
Must have done it in the last 24 hours cause the club announced all week only Ader And Tananou were out injured , everyone else was healthy .
