Yes I did eventually, missed the 5.20 train by seconds but it meant the wife cooked dinner as she was home first <laugh>

Good lad. Now can you tell me this concept you talk of... The wife doing what?

*FLT about to serve fillet of beef rolled in thyme, rosemary, porcini mushrooms and wrapped in prosciutto for mother in laws Christmas dinner.

Festive period here today and I'll try to keep off the forum as I've just take the cork out of a nice bottle of Amareno...

    Happy Christmas everyone.

To be fair I cook 90% of the time as I am home first , but yesterday she cooked cheese and potato pie which was bloody delicious.
But today she is at work and then out with the girls after, so I am in the pub having a few watching the footie :)
Then curry for one and the way home.:)
And your dinner sounds lovely...you spoil her.

I have been drinking Guinness for about 27 years now and as you know I love the stuff, I understand it not being to everyone's taste, but is a very popular drink in fact Guinness is one of the most successful beer brands worldwide. It is brewed in almost 60 countries and is available in over 120.[1][2]Annual sales total 850 million litres (1.5 billion Imperial or 1.8 billion US pints).[1]

I quite like a drop myself. A good bitter/ale first, but quite partial to the black stuff now and again.

Good man, my local does a good pint, but every now and then either a doom bar or a 3bs is very welcome.
In fact another local of mine is doing a Christmas real ale and even the wife likes that one :)

I meant to say, Fats, that I read "Fatherland" on your recommendation - terrific, thanks.

There's a TV movie too. Very old, not great but having read the book maybe worth a watch.

Very true. Boos in the studio, but it would be just like the contrary nature of Brits to vote Fury as the winner! If only to see if he says anything even more stupid.

Sorry, has to be the GB Davis Cup team. Tough call, but they won the Davis Cup for the first time since 1934.
