Agreed, Taff. I thought it was obvious that width was needed but the change never came. Really poor management today.
We had a pretty good game , barring a real shooter in the line up . Easy to guestion a managers thoughts on changes after the game , a bit harder after a good outing with lots of possession and over 20 shots . Can't remember the last time we had 20 shots . Should have had a clear penalty also . I'm generally happy with what happened and nice to see everyone playing with no one a shoe in to start , it will pay dividends in the long run and we have 21 games left
Curts has got them playing again so he`ll do for me, i like montero a lot but maybe a reason why he didnt come on? but i think we lost the chance to score coz we didnt have a decent striker on that could force the ball home or be tricky enough to put it on a plate for others around him ?
"Easy to question a managers thoughts on changes after the game " Even easier to do it DURING the game like we all were. I don't care what anyone says, the game was crying out for a couple of wingers to run at tired legs and provide some crosses. It should have happened but didn't. Bad, bad management. Legend or not.
I think everyone was scratching their heads as to why Montero didn't come on. I don't see why we would need to wait until 60 mins either - we dominated the first half, and there were so many opportunities for a fast tricky winger to run into. Montero should have been put on at half time.
I'm sorry I don't understand that Roof. It was obvious that changes should have been made DURING the game. You agree with that surely?
Yep that's how I see it, we cannot break teams down when they pile the box with bodies, but Go-miss is crap, and expensive crap at that, the game was crying out for Monty on the wing, which I would have brought on at 60 minutes and maybe Emnes needs some game time. Our front line is garbage and will without fail take us down unless we can get something half decent in the January window......
Well the west brom game is extremely important to get a win from now ! i hope the players can raise thier game for it even more ? i would stick goalmiss on the bench for it and try Ayew up front. After xmas it will be backs to the wall time if we dont get the 3 points sharpish now !!
Absolutely , and changes were made . "Can't please everyone so Curtis has got to please himself " The big plus for me is a lot of mix and match the last few games and in the big picture , it will help . We don't know why Curtis did what he did , but he has the authority to do it for what his reasons are and frankly , he the last person I trust at the club these days so....In Curtis I Trust , till someone else is calling the shots . Two great performances in general and that's better than what we've been getting
From the BBC report on the match: The Swans have won none of their last seven Premier League home games at Liberty Stadium (D4 L3), failing to score in five of those matches.
Do you actually think he improved our side? Didn't exactly bust a gut when he came on did he? I lost count how many times Leon ran past him to chase a WHU player.
I agree that we're playing a lot better Roof, but something is very wrong when the home team can only manage two shots on target the whole game. Everyone in the stadium (and on TV probably) could see what was needed. That's reflected in the posts here - we needed some width. Montero was on the bench but unused. WRONG WRONG WRONG!!!
I thought he did OK in the limited time he had. We actually looked more of a threat in and around the box, yes. The through ball (that few people here seem to think he's actually capable of) was inch perfect but Gomis ****ed it up because he's too damn slow. So in answer to your question, yes. I never said Shelvey is the answer to our prayers. I never said he was perfect. I said that we shouldn't lose players who can win us points when we're bottom three. And he can.
