Wasn't great and I'd suggest leaving it at just the result. Don't bother to watch it, ever. There was barely anything to take away from it, and I'm hesitant to use the word Barely, it was that bad. 3-0 could have been much much worse.
A quick summary... 1) some how your back up keeper makes Migolet (excuse spelling) look world class 2) your defence bottled it 3) your midfield bottled it 4) your forwards bottled it 5) 3 nil flattered you You did what spurs did last week and put in a really poor performance.
I've already agreed that the players were absolutely gash. But it seems that the manager is not being given any responsibility whatsoever. When we beat City and Chelsea, he was widely and rightly praised and given the lion share of credit for the excellent performances. When we lose, he doesn't even have a tiny tiny 1% responsibility? .
Klopp will have seen from day 1 who should be out and who should be in. He has to work with what he has, but the irritating thing for me is it started so promisingly now has gone tits up - as mentioned, the honeymoon period is over. Injuries haven't helped, I know, but I'm tired of hiding behind that excuse. He can't buy anyone at this moment in time, but I hope to God he has got a few players on his shopping list for January and please God FSG bin off that useless transfer committee because I wouldn't trust them with my groceries!
Watford fan - not here to gloat. Your time will come and I would not put £1 on us finishing above you this season. However we are riding the wave of being underestimated. Teams all claim after we have won that they just had a bad day - perhaps they did but has that nothing to do with the opposition. We half expected to lose today, then against Chelski, Spurs and Man City in the next 3 games. Instead the players are very well organised. Our manager is not half bad - look at his previous clubs. We have a few experienced players who failed at other clubs but now want to prove a point - not least Gomes and Capoue. Add to that some old fashioned and quite good players such as Troy Deeney and Ideon Ighalo and a great young loanee from Chelsea, Ake. The rest are not rubbish either. Flores started by organising our defence and we seem to have moved on from there. Klopp is also a great manager and with better players and more money he will get you up there. Spurs and Man U are inconsistent, Watford Palace and Leicester will not last so it will only take a run of a few games and you guys will be singing again. Anfield is still my favourite away ground and your supporters take some beating. Good luck and I hope you get to winning ways very soon
With you on most of this. What about my point about today's performance? he managed these players to great victories against top teams but had zero responsibility when we lose? Essentially the same players ?
1. Watford were great. Well organised, tough but fair, great crowd. Loved what they are about. 2. I hope those bashing our individual players get this into their heads. It's not about any one player it's about everyone together. We were awful. 3. Two people got their Firmino wish. I hope they enjoyed it. The poor lad was all at see. 4. Someone got their origi wish... I hope they saw it makes no difference who's stuck up there when the team fails to play as a team. 5. Reality check for all. Wake up and see we've not pressed or worked like Klopp wants for 5 games. Not any collective work going on at all. This is what is most upsetting. we are losing cos teams want it more. That = time to change it herr klopp.
Funny one, that is! Don't you worry, the love will soon wear off. It's the opposite with United. When we lose, the manager is the worst in the world and players are pissed to be playing for him. But when we win, the players are then praised for not listening to the manager and expressing themselves freely.
I agree... That's why your lad is in my ff team and noble players. Fans of big teams all do the same assumption of winning every time. Your defense today was good, tight and narrow to suit us and in a line. Ours was awful playing as individuals with sahko running off upfield all the time, Moreno starting 40 yards up the field and not available for a pass or to defend and Clyne could barely stand up let alone run.... Skertl was awful for second goal and bogdan a joke for first. You are right teamwork and organisation allied with work rate really does the business
I think it should be more than just working hard. On paper we have better players (at least more expensive ones). We should really work as hard and then the talent takes over. The problem with just working hard is that the other teams could match that. WBA Newcastle and Watford were clearly going to do that. There must be more than that for a team like LFC.
Don't know what's happened since we beat City I have to be honest. New manager gone to their heads and suddenly they think they're invincible, I dunno; or, he's got too pally with them and isn't kicking enough arse. Can't see that reflected in his reactions and post-match interviews, he sounds pretty pissed off to me. He is subbing a bit too late for my liking, too...but again he has to work with what he has. Could be some of them know they're gone and aren't putting in a shift, but he has to play them as he has no options. Who knows?
Points 2 and 3 are contradicting. But at least I can admit Firmino has been very poor since City. And the player bashing is justified. Skrtel is ****. Bogdan shouldn't even be at the club. And Lucas is awful. Bossed by Capoue. Individual mistakes continue to let us down. Point 4 is harsh on Origi. He is possibly the only one who did anything up top today. But I agree that other players around him are not doing enough.
Such an easy cop out to blame the players. The players you have are good enough to beat Watford and West Brom. There isn't enough of a lack of quality in the squad to manage that ffs. But the elephant in the corner that nobody wants to address is how your new manager has failed to make the players you have, play well against sides you should be expected to beat. What are you waiting for, Messi? It's ridiculous to suggest you need a transfer window to beat the likes of Watford, West Brom, FC Sion, Newcastle.
No one is saying Klopp has no responsibility. We are just acknowledging that he hasn't had a pre-season with the players, he hasn't been able to sign a single player yet and he's only 15 games into his tenure at Liverpool. Taking all of that into account his results are bound to be inconsistent. Its ****ing embarrassing that you want to start slating the manager and questioning him 15 games into his time at Liverpool even though he's already shown signs of progress and getting his ideas over to the players.
Very nice post although you seem to have more faith in our team than most of us do. your guys played well and thoroughly deserved the win. Hope you guys can keep up the form for the rest of the season PS despite Skrtel's pathetic defending that was a quality finish by Ighalo,
Has to be said you missed Milner badly today. The midfield had no speed, bite or guile in it all without him.
think this season is a wash out as far as the prem goes. Can't see us making top four or even Europa. We may get to a cup final if we have a bit of luck as any team can turn it on in a one off situation. I don't think there will be to much pressure on Klopp as he needs to clear out the dross previous managers have bought and bring in new blood. I'll just watch the rest of the games and enjoy the ones were we show up.
True. But what can he do when he has to rely on Hungary's 2nd choice keeper, and Skrtel? You can't coach experienced players who make these basic mistakes. We lost the game in the first 15 mins because of silly mistakes.
