It's not a case of how much we spend. We just need to bring in some decent players. You're right that don't have width. The squad Rodgers left had zero balance and lacked a spine. Klopp will get it right in time. I have faith
And you're right about speed. Not only are we physically slow, but the decision making on the ball is also slow. I thought Ibe and Origi were the only bright points of the game.
They can't man up, though, they're incapable. I think the point is we have spent money on this rubbish and they haven't lived up to the expectations. Leicester et al haven't got the fee players, but the reason they're successful right now is they've said what the hell and they've gone for it, so it's paying off. Eventually, though, if their luck lasts, big money will come into it and they'll go the same way; they all do in the end. Money has ruined this game. They all start hungry then they get ****ing greedy. Call me a cynic if you like, but that's the way of it. We need to spend on class. Not pay over the odds for bang average like we have done. Like it or not, it's the way of modern football.
Hope Klopp lays into them and makes sure they know he isn't going anywhere soon, the only thing changing is the players
Leicester etc have no expectations, no Europe and run of good form. Just like Swansea and Southampton. And Wigan and Birmingham and every other team that had a great run at some point, they will trail off into mediocrity in the near future. Much as I commend them, I would not want a single player from their ranks to join us
How many years have we been saying the defence is awful, 4, 5? Build a solid defence and work from there. Instead we keep buy misfit players and more lightweight attacking mids. We are desperate for too many players, a good Centre back, a keeper, a controlling midfield player and a fit striker (who isn't a big lump). Other notes from today, Lucas can't pass a ball, why haven't we tried to find someone better. Skrtel is ****, should be his last season with us and today I think he wimped out. Saw that he was getting ****ed by the Watford two and decided he couldn't carry on. Jones was a better backup keeper than Bogdan Firmino needs a giant kick up the backside.
You can put in 100% effort but you need quality. They have Vardy and Mahrez carrying them. There are plenty of teams who work hard. Most of them don't succeed without the quality.
Lol! 100% this! He's a poor defender in the wrong set up, without protection and without a leader next to him. Carrying him for far too long.
Ok, Klopp said and is keeping to his word to give everyone a chance to stake a claim to be part of his future squad/team, those that p!ayed today (most of whatever our strongest team would be)were ****e, whether the managers tactics played a part or not we were absolute crap. If he panic buys in the January window and pays over the odds it'll come back and bite him on the arse. The Rodgers brigade need to get ****ing stuck in or **** off, next summers transfer window can't come soon enough for me. Was talking to fellow reds outside the boozer I watched the game in and we were all in agreement that the guaranteed wages mean more to them than the love for the club these days. OK rant over, but as professionals they should give 100%, so any **** aimed in their direction is fully deserved.
Bollocks. Watford are 1 point of CL and thy hardly have a load of quality but they all work hard and are organised and take their chances when given.
If that's the case, why haven't these teams qualified for CL or won the PL in the past? It's an anomaly. These teams have played with a lot of courage but ultimately, the teams at the top are weaker.
The problem is that many of our players view playing for us is in itself their ambition fulfilled. This sense of achievement does not lead to the hunger that's needed for our team. Also we must say that the other mid table teams have identified as good or better players for less money than we have. The likes of vardy, Mahrez, ighalo, Ayew, are as good as any of our more expensive players.
Doesn't sound great, was travelling home so I've seen nothing but the result. The only good thing I can pick from that is Klopp will be starting to see some players for what they are and understand where we need to strengthen.
