It might help if we went on the attack at the beginning of games

That was in the Premier League - and he most certainly wasn't a strikers arsehole at that level - and you know it!

Scored once in the last 10 games I believe - but the poor bloke has been unavailable for some. "Big-Time Charlie" for my money.

I genuinely hope that you never sit next to me and start laughing when we concede, I wouldn't be impressed.

So he's not a striker if he's in the Premier League but he is if we're in the Championship? <confused>

PITIFUL CITY PAY THE PENALTY FOR POOR DEFENDING

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. A desperately poor City side crashed to earth against second from bottom Rotherham. No Christmas presents this time, apart from the two goals gifted to Rotherham by appalling defensive blunders. Two and a half thousand City fans deserved so much better.

One change for the Tigers-Maloney in for Clucas, but no Snodgrass, and how we missed him. City started brightly enough, but a terrible error by Odubajo gifted Rotherham a penalty, and Frecklington gleefully smashed it home. City had chances, but showed no composure in front of goal, and went in one nil down. Could Steve Bruce manufacture another second half turnaround? No, he couldn't. Shortly after the restart, Rotherham had a great chance to go two up, it went narrowly wide, and City were still in it. However, another catastrophic bit of defending, this time by Robertson gifted Rotherham a second. There was to be no reply. Akpom(gloveless this time) hit the post twice when it was easier to score, and Maguire missed a glorious chance with a header from seven yards out.

Man of the match for the Tigers? Nobody.

To fail to score against the worst defence in the division sends alarm bells ringing, not Christmas bells. Some hard truths need facing. We have to recruit a striker who knows where the goal is.We have to face the fact that without Dawson, we lack leadership and we have too many defenders who are good going forward, but cannot be relied upon to do the simple things. This was a desperately poor performance, and with Burnley next, we urgently need to turn this around.

But, we’re still in the mix, don’t let this result spoil your Holiday.Maybe we’ll beat Burnley on Boxing Day? Wishing you all a very, merry Christmas.

could not agree more with this article has I am sure many others will agree, most of us all know our full backs are not the best defenders but when Dawson is in the side he organises and makes the defence much stronger which benefits the full backs. Our midfield holds its own in most games not always coming out on top but never totally dominated, up front is another big problem I am afraid Akpom is still learning and at this moment in time should be with a mid table championship side not a team chasing promotion because there has been to many games were he has missed fantastic chances which would have changed the flow of the game. In our last three away games he has missed glorious chances at Bristol, Leeds and Rotherham all strikers miss good chances but he does it to often

Have Hull City themselves now become moderate opposition ?

Now Brucie has got his 3 year deal, his best bet is to get the team to play ****, get himself the sack and get himself a nice pay off - for starters he could get rid of a couple of the fans favourites, piss off a couple more players so they leave, buy some dross for a few million and buy someone who is already injured and cant play for the first few months of the season - that should do it

Not left a game feeling so pissed off in ages. Excellent travelling support and assuming that most there yesterday also went to Leeds, we deserved much more than what we got. I thought Rotherham were a really poor side but thoroughly deserved their win, which tells you all you need to know about city's performance. If any of Akpom's chances had gone in I think it would have been a different result as I think their heads would have dropped, but it would again be a result masking a below par performance. Any apologies or promises to put things right are starting to feel empty when it feels like we're getting worse. A massive response is needed against Burnley as yesterday was unacceptable.

I thought attack wise we could have have had a bagfull, Akpon hitting the woodwork twice and hitting their keeper when it looked odds on he'd score just about summed the day up. The defending though was shocking, Odubajo and Robertson are both better when they're in the opponents half, the little stumbles and miskicks that they're both prone to aren't so scary when in the oppositions half! The less said about Davies the better, he doesn't the look like the senior defender that he is.

Fair play to Rotherham, they responded to a midweek shellacking from their manager in the right way, no sulking or heads down, they won their individual battles, rode their luck and were full value for the win.

I think thats the crux of the matter really. Great first season. Then loads of transfer speculation/ moaning about a longer contract etc. Form goes to ****.
Starts this season playing really well.
Mentions in the paper as soon as we have the good run about a contract, alleged interest from Bmouth.
He plays like a ****ing donkey the last few games.
    Get rid of the ****

You have hit the nail right on the head Chazz. brilliant in the old Division 3 where defenders couldn't live with him. Moved up a notch to the old Division 2 and acquitted himself quite well but remember he had 'supply' from the likes of Henderson, Houghton, Butler and Waggy and put the majority away. Totally different at Coventry in the old Division 1 where he came up against the finest defenders in England and couldn't strike a partnership up with anyone. If you study some old interviews of those in our famous "Waggy and Co" era they will tell you that they didn't have to look for a team-mate they KNEW where he was instinctively. That was the difference. Our current team, imo, have not got anything close to teamwork. Some have got to go and the new ones brought in will have to 'gel' which is something that cannot be taught they have either got it or they haven't.

The problem was when Chillo went to Coventry his back was knackered, and we got a brilliant deal in getting £90000 for him.
