While I'd love us to do better and of course want us to win every single game, sometimes you come up ( sadly ) against better opposition. Approaching the new year we sit well placed. COYB. Bring on QPR.
What can we do other than bide our time? Will Mick still be here in 2 years?Probably,5,probably not.10 years definitely not. That's the thing about being a lifelong fan of a Club like Town,in the long term the poorer players and managers(along with the good!)come and go.
I totally get that Spanish, mate, I also want to see us doing much better. I do however realise that with our current transfer policy we will be some way behind the clubs that spend heavily to get out of the division. It's easy for me to see things more objectively, I don't pay my hard earned cash to watch us play in all kinds of weather and I can understand why those that do may have differing opinions. At the end of the day, if the best we can achieve is sixth place, just behind the big spenders, then I would be happy with that, all things considered.
That's pretty much spot on Bigal, you can moan about the club/team/manager and focus on negatives or you can focus on positives and try to have hope and belief.....but either way it doesn't really have any say on what happens at the club positive or negative.......personally I always try to look on the bright side............. I'm sure that we all would love for town to win every game and win every cup and league but realising its not realistic is hardly 'settling' obviously only in my opinion...
I'm just enjoying being competitive in the division again, it will lead to promotion eventually, I hope.
When Fraser came on we definitely looked more of a threat with pace, trickery, and directness and when he is fit enough to start games I think the prospect of him and Sears working together will definitely improve our attacking options, we still need some quality but the second half of the season looks encouraging for Town. We are not going to win every game and we will always find it difficult against the Clubs that have spent big on quality players but we have the basis of a decent team, over to you Mr Evans.
Yeah exactly... Some people just love to moan for no reason without answering these points.... 6th place just behind the big spenders, what's the problem?? Where we are at the moment is as about as good as we can hope for realistically. Mick's doing great, get used to it.
Moan for no ****ing reason, you been watching that dross that is being dished up, for ****s sakes, this is the problem these days too many dickheads that settle for mediocrity!
And yes I am calling some of you dickheads! How does it go? Oh well we are doing really well considering we have not spent millions! If we can finish top half then we have done well! Blah ****ing blah de blah. We are Ipswich Town for **** sakes, have a bit of pride. We don't do boring hoofball, it's not our style. What has happened to our club? The fans have become as dull as our beloved club these days! I ****ing hate it atm and then I get ****ing clowns like you Castro that say I like moaning for nothing, so I say go screw yourself you ****! No wonder the likes of guru and Warky don't post on here much!
Oh and look at Leicester, you don't have to spend millions, kinda blows your boring theory out of the water!
I have now watched 4 games on the bounce and thought we have been poor in every game. The football is dire and to be honest I don't think many would argue with that, so I'm actually not moaning for nothing am I.
Had we had a bit more creativity yesterday I think we would have won as didn't rate Derby at all but with MM in charge.. We have good players at the club and I think a squad that can get us up but we are too negative! THAT IS WHAT ANNOYS THE **** OUT OF ME!
About 50million in the last five years.......is quite a bit of cash. Although I agree you don't need to spend millions if you give a manager time to build.
Some clubs like Poor Chelsea do.......tbh I think a fair amount of that money was spent whilst in the Championship.
Which proves a point, it's not all about the money but down to good management also. Leicester have become more successful since changing manager, therein lies a story!
Oh here we go, another absolute meltdown. Lets add loads of **** into sentences because that, achieves, well zero but lets do it anyway. " We are Ipswich Town for **** sakes, have a bit of pride. We don't do boring hoofball, it's not our style. " Oh please don't go down the West Ham approach for heavens sake. While I'd love open expansive footy first and foremost I want results. Whether you like the style of play, we do a lot better than the last two. Oh Jewell and Keane were roaring successes weren't they. Hell, you liked Keane Spansih and he served up some of the crappest " footy " I've ever seen. I will always remember being at Hull away, we lost 1-0, but jesus was that team so bloody uninspiring and dull. Let me try and dig it up. We played 4-5-1 that day. The " man " you prefer to Mick any day of the week served up this absolute crock of - well - yes.... B.Murphy ( yes, that clown ) A back four of - Delaney, Smith ( when he couldn't play footy ) O'dea ( don't get me started ) Eastman ( milk turns quicker. 4 bloody cbs across a back four. As for the midfield - Leadbitter, Norris, Colback, Edwards, Livermore. That's right, we played 5. Park the bloody bus. Did we play 2 wide boys? NO. 4-5-1 with 4 cms across a 5..... horrific. Striker, the lone ranger Oh yes, Scotland. On his own. With no bloody support. He did however bring Priskin on to replace Scotland on 58........... ( still 4-5-1 ) Peters replaced Livermore ) STILL 4-5-1 and losing, and finally on 80 brought Wickham on for Norris. Townsend was on the bench that day, but MEH unused sub. Surely we've gotta bloody get behind the guy!?!?! We're 6th at the minute. I do apologise we're not in our 13 - 17 mid table boring job, but it'll have to do.
It must be that point in the season where we are still doing well under Mick and Spanish doesn't like it.
