They don't really need players, as they showed today.
They just need the ones that they've got to stop acting like a bunch of petulant arseholes.

Decent enough win, second half performance meant we deserved the 3 points even if we didn't deserve the lead. Alli and Kane were terrific, joint man of the match.

Top 4 at the second time of asking. COYS :)

I never want to see any players pick up serious injuries. Not sure about Charlie Adam, though. Does he count as a player?

Leicester have earned their current place. January could be quite dangerous for them though, even if they don't sell anyone.

Good luck for the rest of the season lads. Unfortunately we're going through a horrid patch of no confidence at the moment, and need a few goals off people's arses to get us going again (as well as cutting out the bizarre mistakes).

I've never been a subscriber of the anti-Poch/Spurs brigade. I can't bear Levy, but Poch is a superb coach and you have one of the best CB in the league with Alderweireld. For that reason I hope you get top four. Should be very achievable for you.

Now back to thinking how the hell we get out of our slump.

Only caught the last 25 mins as I took my Mum to the cinema to see the new Star Wars film as an early Xmas present (she's a massive Star Wars geek), first time in God knows how long I haven't seen a full 90.

From the sounds of it and having read a few comments on here, Soton started the stronger but we dealt with what they had and then gained a foot hold in which Kane and Alli both scored two nice goals, a great individual one from Harry and a well finished off one from a nice Walker cross. From what I saw we looked decent going forward and great at the back, the commentator mentioned Jan and Toby were class and he seemed correct judging by my short analysis.

That was a really important and needed win after having drawn two and lost one in our previous three, Soton despite being in a slump are no bad side and so three points at St Mary's is a great one.

The Christmas period is going to be interesting, on paper Norwich and Watford should be a guaranteed six points for a team of our strength but Watford have been playing really well and Norwich have just won away at Utd which will no doubt be a huge morale booster for them so getting the six points is going to be a tough ask, one I hope we can pass though.

Good response to last week, but only makes the <standard>s even more
    painful when they happen.

Surprised the officials didn't disallow the Dele Alli goal.
So how many did he nutmeg today then ?? :)

So at the 38 minute mark my feed freezes on a picture of a fat linesman with his flag raised. Why watch football when you can watch that for six minutes? The wise and beautiful one talks about watching it on her phone. I say, "Okay, but we’ll miss nine minutes, for better or worse."

So I watch Spurs for 2 hours and miss our only two goals.

We looked flat at first and Southampton outplayed us, but we still created the better chances. Great run/terrible defending on the Kane goal. Their keeper needs to realize lots of people can gesture for an incorrect offsides call. He’s the only one who can stop Alli’s shot, and it would have helped if he had tried.

We were very good in the second half/Saints lost heart. Our passing was crisp and we looked in control.

Dembélé joined the other players in losing the ball too often and making poor decisions in the first half, I thought, uncharacteristically for him. But his bravery got us our first (among other factors, especially good officiating). Lamela was outstanding. He hardly made a bad move, and it seemed he was managing the team at times. Our Belgian CBs were very solid. Dier and Dembélé were good. Kane held the ball up very well. Alli has joined Kane in realizing that if he hangs around the guy in the bright kit he’s liable to have some chances to knock it past him.

Low probability event was our friend today, for once, but we were still the better team. It was the kind of game that wanted to be 0-0. Nothing’s been decided so far except that Leicester are certainly the most effective and probably the best team, and that Mahrez and Vardy are the two best players. We challenge the Foxes for being the best team overall in the sense that we may have outplayed every team we played, with a couple of debatable exceptions. But we’ve won too little, yet are in fourth anyway. So MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Clearly offside but as they didn't score , it wouldn't have changed the result.

However painful it is to take a defeat, and I had been depressed for most of the week, a win and loss gives us more points than two draws.
You just have to make sure that you don't lose to a rival for position.

I had feared that last week's setback would possibly see the return of the 'old Spurs' So, after a shaky start, it was nice to see that we took our chances and more importantly, rebuilt and reinforced our confidence.

Kane was offside, but not adjudged to have been interfering with play. That's the current interpretation of the rule.

Not anymore. We had this discussion with the Mouser about Origi the other week.

Kane would have influenced the decision of their goalie as to where to position himself, thus he was influencing the passage of play.

Kane didn't make an obvious action towards the ball, he didn't directly interfere with any players and it wasn't close to him.
Those were the changes to the rule this season and he doesn't tick any of the boxes.

Clinton N'Jie has had knee surgery, following the injury that he picked up against Monaco.
I'd have thought that would put him out for a couple of months, at least.
Definitely need to bring someone in up top as early as we can in January.

Soldado continuing his campaign of being the most popular player to ever be deemed a flop at WHL:

Nice to see that he's still thinking of his old teammates and has a fondness for the club, despite his troubled time here.

When the ball is played in by Walker the Assistant doesn't know that.

Anyway, of course I am happy and accept it.
