I do not understand this hatred of Nigel Pearson.
Just because he wasn't exactly Mister Personality with the media he was continually called 'Boring, Boring Nigel' in the Hull Daily Mail, a label which our many doubters and knockers latched onto.
Pearson laid the foundations for this club which eventually saw us reach the Premier league and he made some stunning signings. He also took us on the best ever unbeaten away run in the clubs history.
Not that any of this is relevant because we are currently fourth from top of the Championship, well situated in the Play-Off places despite having suffered an horrendous injury list of key players and there isn't a vacancy for a manager.

Leicester finished 4 places ahead of us so that argument is total bollocks.

Horrendous injury list of key players:

    Michael Dawson

    End of list.

****ing hell, our injuries have really crippled us.

There are two young up and coming managers, both available on a free, both play attacking football, both hve achieved far more in the game than Steve Bruce in less than a quarter of the time.

    Garry Monk
    Tim Sherwood

We should have gone for Sherwood when he was available the first time.

Oh no, we couldn't, he thought Arsenal would still win the FA cup final at half time when they were 2-1 down, the stupid ****. Don't know his arse from his elbow.

...and both managed teams which are currently in the bottom 3. There was a reason they were both sacked.

This is starting to feel a lot like just before Brownie was put on gardening! Not good from either side of things, I stuck with him right up until the last few games when I realised he wasn't going to do it for us, but then we got Iain Dowie!<doh>
I can feel a similarity to that now, but back then we were in the PL so I saw the games, these ones I can't see, unless on TV really, with an odd live game thrown in.
I like so many others have no idea what's going on at the club. Why we're doing badly, but it's happening, despite everything I don't think it's a disaster just yet, it's on the cusp, no doubt, but all teams will go through rough patches.
Then there are those that are saying we've been going through this for 2 years, majority of that time was in the PL & against better opposition. I've seen us play some decent stuff, I've seen us play some dire stuff.
When we were in the PL it was all the arguments about how we were being dominated by the opposition having 60%+ & we were just hacking the ball away, playing 10 defenders & a goalie, yet we were lucky to get points. Now we have the possession it's all about how we can't beat other teams who put out 10 defenders & a goalie.
Unfortunately I think SB might be coming to the end, if the next 3-4 games don't result in at least 9 points, I think he'll be gone. I'd just like to think that if he does go, that 1) it's down to him to walk & not get pushed. 2) The Allams are already looking for someone new, just in case.

So we're better off with the guy who finished in the bottom three having spent silly money on a team that was already competitive, and under whom we look just as ****e, probably worse even, in the division below.

I'm still on the fence, Bruce needs to do something drastic to change this run of ****e performances. I'm not a manager so I'm not even going to pretend to know what that something is.
Yes more performances like of late and would probably agree that it could well be him that has to go, but who are the realistic candidates to take the helm. The next person to come needs to have a proven track record of getting teams promoted from the championship, that goes without saying, but also need a manager who has proven track record of keeping clubs in the EPL. There are not many managers out there, that are free who hold those credentials.
Sunlun fans called it when we were promoted when they said that Bruce would only get us so far in the Prem.
Bruce has capabilities to get us up, every club has a blip, this is ours. Come 26 Dec when we finally beat one of our "bogey" teams followed by a good run over xmas then we'll be back on track, a ****e xmas run and it's still not a disaster, since when have Hull City done anything simple.
For now we stick with Bruce, see what the xmas games bring, if it is a disaster then move him on so its gives someone new a chance to dabble in the transfer market.
Stay calm, let's ride it out and get behind the lads even more than we have of late.

Yeah. Not too cold. Do you think they'll be allowed to take their phones onto the training ground?

Where did I say that? I was just countering the argument to appointing Monk or Sherwood to replace Bruce.

The thing that has always pissed me off about Steve Bruce is how he has always talked us down, eg. on many occasions we have lost to a 'big club', 'there are some big clubs in this league' etc, etc, etc. I wonder whether Claudio Ranieri preaches the same lines to the Leicester players and fans. Sometimes I think Steve Bruce is beaten before a ball is kicked!

That attitude exists around the whole club and some fans gobble it up. See name change debate.

Pearson always came across as being arrogant and potentially volatile, ruthlessly exposed every time he was interviewed or confronted. The fact is though,he got a second bite at a very sweet cherry to show many in football that he could actually motivate players and bind them as one so to speak, something currently missing at Hull City according to the dwindling few who still actually go and watch them.

Shouldn't you be sat on the gunwale?

It's about time someone should get the missing d out for that outdated banner.

This is spot on. It says more about how he sees us rather than how he sees others.

For those who want Mike Phelan to replace Brucey, what has he brought to the party since he joined? At face value he's someone who is a long standing mate of Brucey, and therefore covers his back, nothing more. Add to that Steve Clemence who worked with Brucey at Brum, and we have another hanger on!
