I was arguing that earlier but I've changed my mind in recent weeks. Regardless of what's happening to United, the rest aren't capitalising and it's just a real lack of quality. The quality of strikers, midfielders, defenders really are in short supply. Compared to 8-10 years ago, I can't even count on one hand how many could compete with those back then. It's just pi55 poor.

Strikers and defenders I would agree with, there are still quite a few quality midfielders in the league though.

at the level (quality or consistency) of Scholes, Lampard, Gerrard :bandit: , Viera, Keane, Alonso, Essien? I don't think so. Then there are the wingers...

There are no wingers. Hmmm, you are making me re-think the midfield situation also

The question for the chavs who are fervent Jose loyalists surely is:

Will Jose snub the united job (again apparently!) ? Will they be mortified that/if their hero (and this is an understatement ) would be managing United?

I think the true fans have seen the way the players and club have **** on him (again) and would not begrudge him a chance at the top job <ok>

I didn't want him the first time round but United may have nothing to lose if our **** run continues.

I have never wanted him (still don't) but, as you say, there is nothing to lose.
He would probably win us some silverware in the next two years with the squad we have but is not the future long term.

I seem to remember Sir Alex sinking in his chair at one time after one of our bad spells. I can't remember the match but I distinctively remember that incident. What did you want him to come out and say? That we were "unlucky" and pretend to be in control which would actually translate as an insult to supporters? You want him to act as though sht is good when he knows damn well that it isn't?

You're overly ranting about irrelevant issues by taking the approach of trying to dissect every word from his mouth. Yes, sht hasn't worked out. You can be as brave as you like it, it doesn't mean you get results. He is not new to the business and he sure as hell knows more about football than you and I. That's just how the game goes. Sometimes it works and other times, it doesn't. No need to slam your head on the wall over it. Either he resigns or he gets fired. Either way, we move on from this period and next manager inherits a better and younger team than three years ago.

So no arguments then? The only one who seems to be slamming their head is you, for no reason.

Again, I think Ferguson could be forgiven the odd lapse. It's an unfair comparison, no one competes or compares to Ferguson so shouldn't be.

Van Gaal should be judged on his own merits, or lack of then at the moment, and as I said after the Bournemouth game, we should expect a United manager to be more bombastic and confident in getting across that we're going to go on and win the next game, which happened to be the mighty Norwich at home.

Instead we get defeatist resignation and, at times, meaningless waffle. That's why things are turning against him. How can you take him seriously?

I would expect something to come out of the club tomorrow. Even if just a statement backing van Gaal.

There is absolutely no point moaning about Van Gaal, or sacking him. Whoever comes in has to play Rooney, because you only have one striker, who I'm pretty sure is still playing Pokemon and getting wedgies from bigger kids, and apparently this clapped out cart horse used to be one.

Sell the fat oaf, hopefully to Chelsea to ensure they go down, and buy a ****ing decent striker, for the love of God.

Playing Rooney is often like playing with ten men. He has become that much useless. No vision, no hope!

I think you only need to go through your post history to get a feel for yourself how you overly get worked up.

As it stands it is a 5 horse race between those giant clubs - Utd, Spurs, Crystal Palace Watford and West Ham for that coveted Europa League spot. The glory times are back again
