Maybe they came over to work on farms and in factories because many natives think such jobs are beneath them....

Nobody is suggesting refusing entry to all. The UK should be in a position, like Australia, to decide on the quantity and quality of people wanting to join us on this overcrowded island.

That's not what you said, you said there are 'parts of the UK' where no one speaks Englsh.

Have a wild guess at the demographics for Hemel Hempstead or Wellingborough? What % is White British? The site I found even has the English language speaking % there too.

The benefits in the UK are lower than what most EU nationals would receive at home. We also get free use of European countries' health services when we travel there, so that doesn't make a difference.

Do you know how much it costs to move to the UK and set yourself up in a flat? How many EU nationals turn up for £50 a week jobseekers when it costs upwards of £1000 to move into a shared room in the SE, where most EU nationals end up.

I've lived in the world you're talking about, the new job market/housing rental market isn't for people with no language skills/no prior capital.

    You have no idea...

Another UKIP/BNP/NF lie, this island isn't overcrowded.

    wrong again.

I said there are parts where it is difficult to hear anyone speaking English.

The UK benefits and pay rates are considerably higher than, guess what, East European countries, which is why they are flooding here. Next year Turks may have the right to join them.

On health there is a huge difference between EHIC entitlement and access to healthcare whilst living in another country.

It costs less than £75 for a coach ticket from Warsaw to London then bunk in with friends or relatives cheaply.

I know I was on one in 1972.

You cannot disagree that adding thousands more will not make the situation worse?

Yes, the whole of Eastern Europe is flooding to the UK. to take away your money ! There are 646,000 Poles living in the UK. (In Germany 1.9 million). There are 101,000 Rumanians (In Germany 489,000). Look at the numbers of those who are claiming benefits and then compare it to a. the local born population who are claiming and then b. the non EU. immigrant population doing the same before blurting out your right wing propaganda on here.

There's more chance of you voting Labour at the next election than there is of Turkey joining the EU next year.

Lack of council houses (guess whose fault that is?) is very different to the island being 'overcrowded'. There are plenty of empty properties all over the UK.

Polish plumbers aren't going to jump ahead in the queue.

82.6% of people living in Hemel Hempstead Town were born in England. Other top answers for country of birth were 1.9% India, 1.3% Scotland, 1.0% Ireland, 1.0% Wales, 0.9% Pakistan, 0.6% Sri Lanka, 0.6% Ghana, 0.5% South Africa, 0.4% Philippines.

92.2% of people living in Hemel Hempstead Town speak English. The other top languages spoken are 0.6% Urdu, 0.6% Malayalam, 0.6% Polish, 0.4% Tamil, 0.3% French, 0.3% Tagalog/Filipino, 0.3% Cantonese Chinese, 0.2% Akan, 0.2% Arabic.

    1. Turkey won't join the EU.
    2. You won't get any benefits living on a mate's sofa
    3. The Eastern European migrants have been proven to be net contributors to the state.

    More uninformed kipper propaganda....

I don't care how many Germany take, that is their business. It is not a matter of political left/right, The concerns of the British public are shared by all social groups.

Like you the Labour Party made a huge mistake during the last election by ignoring its traditional working class supporters fears on immigration which manifested itself in votes for UKIP.

One of keenest supporters of an open door policy i've met was a banker acquaintance who lived in a wealthy part of North London who needed cheap 'servants' to clean his house, cars and do building work when required. He had no concerns whatsoever for those effected in other areas by long housing queues, doctor's waiting times, school places etc.

God, I've sounding like a rabid socialist!!!

You can get benefits living on a mate's sofa. You simply pass the habitual residence test. To have a right to reside all you need is to be working or self employed, be a former worker, self sufficient, a student, or a family member of someone with the right to reside.

Even if Eastern European migrants have been proved to be net contributors to the state it is the sheer numbers with access that is the problem.

Merkel has recently pushed for Turkey EU membership talks although this will certainly be opposed by the French. However the EU has offered visa free access to 78 million Turks.

I am not necessarily for an open door policy. I am trying to get at the facts and I do not want to see a right wing paranoia whipped up based on propaganda alone, particularly if this could have an influence on a referendum where there will be no second chance. There are around 2.33 million EU. citizens living in the UK. whereby East Europeans make up less than a million. This population brings more into the British economy than it takes out of it whatever lies or propaganda the Kippers and their EDL/BNP friends may come out with.

Knowing a great many Turks I can honestly say that they are not interested any more - they have seen what happened to Greece.

Why don't you try the Luton forum? It more represents the multicultural mix you obviously prefer.
