    Absolutely.

He cheated in his capacity as Coventry chairman.

He got away with it in his capacity as the chairman of the disciplinary committee who looked into the matter of his cheating as chairman of Coventry.

    Simple really.

In some ways I'm as happy as most Sunderland supporters. For me, Hill cheated, and the FA didn't sanction him for nothing. I could never forgive him for it.

And yet, this was the good player I saw playing for Fulham alongside Johnny Haynes and Bedford Jezzard. This was the man who more than any other fought for the abolition of a criminally low maximum wage (and who spoke up for Sunderland over the illegal payments scandal we suffered in 1957). A few years later, he backed George Eastham over the "slavery" contracts players were held to, and induced the PFA to meet George's High Court legal fees - £12,000 if I remember. George won, and players were never treated like sh*t again.

Jimmy Hill did so much for players that there will inevitably be a great many in football who genuinely mourn his passing. But not at Sunderland. And not by me. It's a great pity he allowed his Coventry antics to soil his memory forever. But he did.

He was president of the PFA at the time ......... Blatter cheated and will pay the price.

His illness doesn't excuse his actions in my eyes, Hitler was known to have serious mental issues.

And no, to the knobsacks, I'm not comparing Hill to Hitler ............ I have much more time for Adolf.

I'm sorry he died the way he died, but his name for me will always stand for 'cheating twat'.

Didn't respect him in life, don't respect him in death.
