SD I am fully behind PJ and I can see he is making big improvements but lets be honest he couldn't have done much worse! He has made a couple of shrewd signings in Chopra and Bowyer but the rest have been pretty average to say the least. Ellington looks completely immobile worse than Scotland! Ingarmarsson will not play in the majority of games this year as his knees aren't up to it. We've got no recognised Right Back and a central Defensive partnership that reminds me of the Keystone Cops! Both our Keepers have got an error in them and we don't have a truly creative midfielder so yes everything is rosy in the garden! Some times these things have to be aired.

Im with you on this jonny, as I said on a previous thread we are loaded with cash from the CW transfer plus the fund that was made available anyway, so if we have to compete with other clubs to get a player then we have the cash to do so. If we identify a player we really need then for christs sake spend the money and get him!!
On the subject of players what about a defender or two? with the exception of Cardiff and Leeds our goals against column was huge and our points gained pathetic when we played top clubs last season, so come on Evans and Clegg you know you have to invest money to make money so bloody get on with it!

Keystone cops, lol. When you put it that way then yes, you can see that we still need to bring in defenders and possibly a goalie. If we can get a strong enough unit in front of our goalie then hopefully he won't be called into action too often and thus limit the chance of error. It is clear that we need CB's though.

Carmen Sandiego is a media franchise of educational computer and video games, television programs, books and other media featuring a thieving villainess of the same name. The basic premise of the franchise lets the user or protagonists become agents of the ACME Detective Agency, who attempts to thwart and capture V.I.L.E. ringleader and former ACME agent Carmen Sandiego.

    Not that funny really guv.

    Anyhoo! Enough of this merriment!

After an intial burst of transfer activity things seem to have fallen flat while other clubs are now making their moves for quality players. I worry that we will get left behind again and with the lack of quality we have in certain areas we will struggle for sure!

Very well put San Deigo, I for one am just relieved to see the dark cloud of Roy Keane leave. Whoever came in was going to have a very hard job on there hands, unfortunately Keane didn't leave the squad in anywhere near as good a state as it was when he took over. I truely believe if we would have appointed someone of Jewells experience after Magilton we would have been in the Premiership by now, it just shows how much Keane f****d it up!!!

The great thing about football is it divides opinion, as we can clearly see on this thread.!

I can see both arguments on this one, if I had not also been at Cambridge the other night I might well be leaning toward the Hamps camp on this.
We may not be one of the top 15-20 teams in England anymore but surely we are still around the top 25-30, therefore I also think we should be banging on the play-off door with a bit more regularity than of late.

All this re building nonsense is doing my head in, the Budgies managed to re-build from relegation to back to back promotions, in less time than was given to both Magilton (double the games infact) & then Keane!

I am sure PJ will get things right given time, I am sure ME will again give him at the very least all of this season and then some, but I am somewhat confused as to why we are constantly being linked with strikers, for me this is the only area at the moment where we have choice, albeit not the best but a choice none the less. Do we have that luxury in any other area of the field, I think not, our defence the other night was woeful, yes pre-season blah blah blah, but Cambridge are 3-4 steps down from us on the pyramid, they were also in pre-season as well.!

This is what concerns me, surely all the best teams are built from the back are they not, yet Ingermarson aside no new CBs are in the squad, big mistake for me, maybe PJ has also realised that after the other night & that is why he has been dampening down the flames of expectation.!
