Nope, and he didn't melt the metal either, he just displayed how malleable it becomes when heated.
I would imagine with the air (oxygen) being drawn in by the up-draft of the rising heat and other combustible materials catching fire, the lift shafts, service shafts and stairwells became very much like a furnace.
It wasn't only the aviation fuel that ignited you know, some things have a low ignition point but burn at incredible temperatures.

I know a couple of firemen and they say that in a fire they would trust a wooden joist more than a metal one as you get a warning with wooden joists but not metal. Its all about how little pressure it takes it takes bend metal once it is heated, it does not take much bending for floors etc to then give way.

Yep, wood doesn't buckle under heat, it burns and weakens slowly. Metal on the other hand, can weaken quite quickly and almost without warning.

With metal the heat is conducted through the whole section, with wood the internal structure (strength) remains the same until the fire burns through the rest of it.

    • Just something on that passport malarkey too. When I was a kid I made my parents keep our old settee in the back for a month or so till Bommy Night when we got a new one. It was the centre-piece of the bonfire on the field outside the Labour Club. ****ing blazer - someone else donated a few pallets, another family gave an old shed: it must have been visible from Skylab. Three days later and the embers were still warm. A knock on the door - some kids had found my mum's Green Shield Stamp book in the ashes, intact enough for her to reclaim the stamps that were in it.
    True story.

Makes sense , not sure what it means in relation to the video but it is clear that metal does not have to melt to lose its integrity so any references to the melting point are irrelevant.

On hearing the news of Mourinho's sack, this embittered Chelsea fan burned his Chelsea jersy kit, denounced his support for chelsea and joined Arsenal
Below is what he posted along with this photo
I'm fed up of Chelsea's sacking expedition. Now that Jose Mourinho has been fired. What am I still waiting for? Time to return to Arsenal, my first love afterall they never chased me & they will be proud to have me back. Goodbye Chelsea ! Goodbye Stamford Bridge ! Au revoir Roman Abrahamovic. Thanks for the memories..time to return home #Change — feeling disgusted.

fail, office chairs and carpet are not a furnace idiot, jesus how stupid are you "metal bends when hot" Really!<laugh>

This is not a ******ed 9\11 debate.. he put a metal rod, of unknown composition in a furnace for an unknown amount of time, and tried to compare that to the super strong metal beams in the WTC in a low heat fire (once almost all kerosene burned off within seconds of the alleged fuel fire)

The fact you can't work out those simple points makes you an idiot <laugh> I thought the hillbilly was posted in jest, because it was so idiotic.

Better still, you pile up office chairs and carpet and such under one of those several feet thick metal beams, and see if you can melt it and bend it<laugh>

Some people are so ****ing stupid.

or I could just post this.

Was that building built in the same way as the WTC? Yes or no will suffice.

Was that picture taken during the "few seconds" of the kerosene burn or was that the "office chairs and carpets"?

There is quite a bit more combustible material in most buildings than "office chairs and carpets", if not the fire fighters do a **** job by losing so many :emoticon-0100-smile

Isn't this the same building after the fire has gone out? What happened to the top right of the building, looks to me like like the steel has given way and its collapsed. I am sure you will educate me as to what the truth is though.

Can the hillbilly explain this @Diego
    <whistle>

No one explains anything, ye have a laugh and like each other's comments. Yet not one of you ever make one decent argument based in any fact and call it "win" <laugh>

So tell me where is the fire? It's pitch black in that hole
