Bruce has spent £58m on these players, excluding Maloney as I can't find reference to his transfer fee anywhere. 58 million ****ing pounds. And this is the best he can deliver.
What I find unacceptable is the fact the we can't defend without Dawson. Our hopes of automatic promotion or even promotion through the play offs are almost totally dependent on Dawson remaining fit for the rest of the season once he comes back.
No you said he has Been good. Without doubt he has been better value for money than anyone else in the team just now and as such we will loose him in Jan being realistic
I said 'very good' which I think is as close to generous as it is accurate, he makes a lot of defensive mistakes. I can't imagine anyone coming in for him cos relegation threatened teams will not want a defensively unreliable fullback at this point in the season and he hasn't shown enough to move to a top team yet.
Depends what you mean by valuable. If you mean he would command the highest transfer fee at this moment in time then no, if you mean the ratio of cost to value then yes.

Apart from Hernandez I don't see a lot wrong with that! Especially with the money he's brought in with ince, chessy & Brady! I agree things aren't right at the moment but we've gone on a good run before & we're capable of doing it again.
It baffles how blind people can be! We have been underperforming for 2 bloody years now! Our squad last season with a decent manager would never have got relegated and this season we should be doing exactly what Newcastle did in this league and that's blow it away! Our position flatters us as apart from Middlesbrough game, you tell me when we have looked far and away the better team!!?? Steve Bruce has done exactly what he has done here everywhere he has been! And you lot wonder why Sunderland fans hated him in the end! Get him out of this club now for god sakes! It's been going on for far to long. Agree with this. I don't have that much confidence in any of the back four when Dawson out. All capable of playing well but far too inconsistent.
I just don't get that the squad is that good. I keep hear people saying 'with our squad' but just think we are lacking consistent quality. I ask again , how many of those who played today are genuinely Premier League players?
30? We're only 22 games in. I was happy with 10. X said do less so we did. Now you want more, I feel like I'm in a no win situation here. I know how Bruce must feel. Must be Hudd's fault, Bruce out.
