Having already been outsmarted and outclassed by the likes of mighty Shteve McLaren, Gary Monk, Philip Cocu, Eddie Howe and Aitor Karanke this season can the dutch maestro possibly establish his world class status by getting the better of Alex Neil? It's fair to say this will be close. Van Gaal has told MUTV that Rooney, Herrera and Smalling have all trained for a full week. So that makes them ready to warm the subs bench. Prediction: a high scoring 0-0 if we're lucky. Interesting fact: read OPTA
Opta only give you interesting stats. I'll give you an interesting fact; I just saw some of Delia Smiths Christmas on the food channel. Delia supports Norwich and is usually pissed.
Lets hope Delia can give another rendition of Lets Be Having Ya at half time if the football is a little dull and uneventful.
I thought thaat was photoshopped as I'd never really noticed on the telly. But on further googling and closer examination, those puppies are real.
The feelossofee dictates that players returning from injury can't come straight back into the starting line up as they need to rediscover their match rhythm. That will almost certainly apply to Herrera unfortunately. Will the same be true of Smalling and Rooney? Really it has to or it's effectively an admission that the feelossofee is bullshit.
Already covered his arse on this in the press conference, Herrera has been away from the office for 4 or 5 weeks, Rooney has only missed 2 games
Aslong as Mike Smalling is playing then I can see us getting the 0-0 well be set up to achieve. Though I'm not to concerned by the score line in truth, aslong as we dominate possession and starve the opposition of it, then who cares what the scoreline is. Possession of the ball is all that matters
Looking forward to seeing us press and win the ball back today, bums off seat stuff that is right there. Can't wait, awesome. I'm fairly sure that as long as we do this and don't lose the boss will remain in charge. Set us up to not lose, that should do it. At home. To Norwich.
Will we play with two DCMs? Schneiderlin can come back into the team as he had some time on the bench last week to rediscover his match rhythm. De Gea Varela Smalling (despite lack of match rhythm, feelossofee not applicable) Jones (match rhythm restored from sitting on the bench as per the rules of the feelossofee) Blind Schneiderlin (match rhythm restored from sitting on the bench as per the rules of the feelossofee) Fellaini (scored, can't be dropped as per the rules of Garth Crooks's team of the week) Mata Rooney (despite lack of match rhythm, feelossofee not applicable) Depay Powell on the bench in case we need him to come on as a striker to nick a winner/equaliser in injury time. Martial
I'd like to see Romero get more game time, I'm sure he has got a goal or two in him but LVG seems to prefer Rooney - which is odd as their goal returns are about the same. Perversely, with a bit of luck we will get tonked by Norwich and the board will sack LVG. As a club we need to do our bit to keep the managerial merry-go-round going
I can see how this is going to go. Either we play dire football and draw/lose and most will agree this is not acceptable, which by tomorrow we will be told is yet another "knee jerk" reaction. OR... we play dire football but win, and as a result, anyone critical of the 25+ 5hite performances so far this season including the comments made so far justifiably on this thread, were a "knee jerk" reaction
United: De Gea, Young, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Fellaini, Memphis, Mata, Martial, Romero. Subs: Rooney, Borthwick-Jackson, McNair, Varela, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Herrera. Yep, Rooney returns as sub goalie and at long last Romero gets his chance up front with Martial - this has goals written all over it......
Rooney and Smalling straight back into the team. Good news about Smalling but makes a mockery of the feelossofee which is just something the coward hides behind. Herrera must be thinking of a move next summer if LVG is going to be in charge next season. Why should he put up with being lied to?
Only jokin ..;... United: De Gea, Young, Jones, Smalling, Blind, Carrick, Fellaini, Memphis, Mata, Martial, Rooney. Subs: Romero, Borthwick-Jackson, McNair, Varela, Schneiderlin, Pereira, Herrera.
