Koeman confirms our continuing interest in Vilhena, but most likely in the summer.

 

Transfer window has gone mad already.....

Chelsea are likely to bid for Southampton striker Graziano Pelle, 30, in the January transfer window. (CalcioNews24 via Daily Star)

 

Think they must have misheard Ronald when he said we're trying to buy a striker and thought he said sell one.

 

I love Pelle, but he isn't right for Chelsea. He's not scoring at the moment.....oh, now I see it.

 

The one thing we need more than anything else is another decent striker and yet the papers link our main striker away. Shows that they just don't even look at the situation in the smaller club. Just Chelsea need goals, who has scored some, Pelle, they will be after him.

 

Perhaps Lukaku would be a good fit at Chelsea..... or there again.

Thing is, he has responded numerous times, saying we aren't selling anybody. The media have short memories and he refusing to keep repeating himself

Juanmi confirms Malaga have been I touch with him, but says he wants to stay here.

 

I wouldn't want to move just yet, either if I were him. He is in a relatively good position, if he works hard on improving and can stay patient. Pelle and Davis are not getting any younger, and Mane seems likely to leave (and we'd be more likely to cash in if Juanmi looks ready to step in). And even as things stand, we are far from an offensive juggernaut.

There are plenty of paths to playing time for him. He needs to give himself more than half a season to get adjusted, and for Koeman to figure out what he brings to the team. If he is still not playing by the end of the season and then we bring in one or two more central attacking players then maybe he should at least start to think about an exit plan. But until then, he's better off here bar the perfect loan deal.

 

Far too early for him to be giving up. New league and language so it's bound to take a while to settle. Glad to hear he's not considering it (not sure we'd let him go anyway) and wants to prove himself to Ronald.

I would jump at the chance to take Townsend on loan. Surely getting in the squad for Euro 2016 has to be a massive motivation for him, and he'll only do that by playing regularly and putting in decent performances. And if he failed to do that, well we'd just send him back to Spurs at the end of the season. Aside from maybe a few quid in wages down the drain for five months, I don't really see what there is to lose.

(At worst he'd block Juanmi's path into the first team, and I'm sure that is necessarily a bad thing. It's not like he'd be blocking Gaston's path or any of the kids, because they're not getting a look in now anyway. It's Juanmi and Martina getting on the bench)

 

Rather have Juanmi playing.

I have a mate who has been right about a few Man Utd transfers in the past and he is very sure that they are going for Mane in Jan. I'm not saying he will go, but he says Utd are definitely going to be trying in Jan

 

I could try to sign Fonte, but that isn't going to happen either. Does anyone think we have players to spare.
