Big rumours today flying around. Apparently Aly Cissokho has been spotted in England a few times; so we could be hearing about a deal struck for him very soon. Also, multiple reports around Madrid are saying that "Aguero wants to move to Liverpool not Man City," and apparently we've stuck in a 45m euro bid for him. Not sure how believable it is, but it's definetly a rumour that's gathering speed and making it's way around. He's also gone from 16/1 to 7/1 overnight in the betting odds.
Just robbed this off the Sunderland board. Bruce insists Liverpool not in for Cattermole Sunderland boss Steve Bruce has rejected reports Liverpool have made a move for Lee Cattermole. The Reds have already raided Sunderland for Jordan Henderson this summer and it was claimed over the weekend that they are also keen on his former midfield partner. But Bruce insists the Black Cats have had no contact with Kenny Dalglish's side over the 23-year-old. "I don't know where that has come from. It's news to me," Bruce told the Journal. "I have not even thought about this situation, to be honest. I have had bigger things on my plate to worry about. "We have been dealing with Liverpool for the past five weeks over the Jordan Henderson deal and there was never a mention that they wanted Lee. I don't know where it's coming from at all." http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-ne...not-cattermole
Fulham manager Martin Jol is keen to bring former Leeds and Liverpool winger Harry Kewell back to the Premier League. Full story: footybunker.com

Is spending that much on Aguero really necessary though? Carroll ad Suarez are already at Liverpool, after being signed for big fee's. Both will expect and deserve reguler starting places, as would Aguero. With Downing have already signed, and being a big part of getting the best out of Carroll, you cant really fit all 4 in one team surely?
Kenny has hinted there could yet be more signings...who?We must wait and see. However I don't think anything will happen until at the weekend at the earliest as Kenny is currently in the Republic of Ireland with the academy/ reserves.Liverpools academy/reserves are in Limerick tomorrow having been in Wicklow yesterday.
During all these transfers Kenny would of clearly stated that the club is planning to improve in depth and the players will all know they have to fight for a place in the first 11. I'm sure the players will be fine as depending on the opposition we will have variation. Hopefully Kenny will develop a group of players that play for the team and not for the individual
Rory Smith (Telegraph Merseyside football reporter) tweeting that a £13m deal for Diego Godin could be on the cards. Thoughts? Don't know a lot about Godin - can anyone enlighten me? EDIT link that explaines rationale http://www.sportskeeda.com/2011/07/19/liverpool-transfer-news-reds-to-swoop-in-for-godin/
I'm not too sure about it. we seem to think kenny is after a CB striker and left back but kenny said that now they have to move some players out to make room so I don't expect to see much more action for 2-3 weeks.
godin was linked with cheslea before luiz went there and he's only been at his current club for 1 year? there's articles out there on him
Godin is a solid player, performed well at the last world cup for Uruguay so would know saurez well too. He's only 25 so has got some life left in him, but would depend on what athletico would want for him. They bought him for £6.6m last year so anything under £10m would be good buisness IMO.
Possibly something we see in the near future ( second goal, Alvaro P to Suarez....)
Not sure how reliable this is but could be one for the future. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11661_7056204,00.html
It's a bit like illegal child smuggling. He doesn't get much choice, basically, we buy him, he gets 'told' you're moving to Liverpool. Someone meets him off the plane and takes him to a holding building.
He wouldn't leave if he wasn't ready though. Also, I imagine it's something he'd want, there's little money in African football.
True. Freddy adu was in the same situation, epl teams looking at him, but he signed for a local (dc united) team. This way, he could finish school. Still think he could play for a mid to low level epl team, but that's not the Point. I don't think he will sign unless he's ready.
wait are we are complaining about buying a 16 year old? Barca bought Messi, they bought his growth hormone treatments, took a gamble, and he was barely that. I say if we are looking for the best talent great, because we hve the best coaches in that age group, nuff said.
