Well yeah, I meant too slow to get himself out of the trouble he gets himself into. Franco Baresi, the best defender in the history of the game, was slow. He just had extraordinary positional sense and timing.

This story is a year old, never mind a month.

He wasn't ever going to sign again.

He looked fine when he played in the PL. Plenty of PL CBs aren't quick.

For a start you can double the £60m to £120m with the new PL deal give or take. We are better off keeping him for the season and allowing him to walk for nothing in the summer. Until this season many of us (me included) would have been happy to see him go after last season. Getting James Chester back should be near the top of SB shopping list.

I also don't see Curtis wanting to rush headlong into another relegation battle when a promotion with us would increase his value AS A FAT in the summer. If and it's a massive IF he does go it wont be until near the end of the Jan window,,(when Dawson and Bruce should be back),, imho.

He can go to Bournemouth and take Huddlestone, Aluko and Elmo with him

He looked like a startled rabbit. I actually felt sorry for him. Big lad, totally out of his depth.

I'd happily sell Davies - he's not been anywhere near the performances he put in season before last. If we get anywhere near £3m for him I'd cash in he's not PL quality at all.

I'd get Chester back on loan, alternatively there's other defenders around that we'll be able to pick up - or even stick Huddlestone alongside Dawson.

He made a couple of mistakes, but he's been one of their best performers this season apparently and he's quite highly rated by the club. Not going to call it based on one game am I?

    Amen.
Really disappointed in Davies. I backed him when he first came when a lot were complaining about Hobbs going. He was excellent that first season. He's behaved like a **** last season.
He's been better this season but still nowt like the first season.
    Hero to zero.

Then why didnt you say he's looked decent when you've seen him before?
You made out he looked good on Wednesday. He didnt.
He may turn out to be the next John Terry but he was poor the other night.

I put this down to lack of experience for Maguire at a higher level Bum Chin, which he will get with Dawsons help but not Davies who's head isn't in the game with us. Dawsons already been on Sky singing Maguires praises and saying what a good future he has and I'd be prepared to take his word for it as he knows more about these matters first hand than us
