Despite being a bit part player, is Ricky equalling if not bettering Jerome's goalscoring record this season, despite Jerome having many more minutes?
Some of the worst transfers in history - who can forget Torres to Chelski for £50M and then Carroll to Loserpool for £35M???????
Well my son has a much better goal scoring record than Vardy this season, so maybe he should be playing in the PL. However he is only 7 so may we should leave it for a couple of years !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tbh, I don't know why we aren't seeing more of our striker with the best goal record - Dimbo has as many goals as Jerome in half the number of matches and if you go just on minutes has a goal very nearly every other game. He's our 15+ goals striker currently on the books if that's what we need. I appreciate he doesn't bring as much to the pitch as Grabban or Jerome, but at least he can put the ball in the back of the net and his size is intimidating. He also provides assists.
I have to confess I've been very pleasantly surprised with Mbokani whenever I've seen him, he's far more than a big lump up front and I genuinely think he could be a real handful if given a run of games in the first team. I'm hoping he gets the nod for saturday at least, but wouldn't be surpised to see Grabban restored to the starting XI (not surprised maybe, but boy would I be p1ssed off!)
I was worried about him when he first played because he looked like he had a dreadful touch, but then he definitely got match fit and as you say looked like he offered more than just smash it up to his head. He seemed pretty clinical too. But then, as with so many team changes this season I simply do not understand why he has only been given 45 minutes in the last three games as I thought against Watford he should have been a certainty to start. I really hope Grabban is not in the starting XI because I cannot see what he offers which will worry the Man U back four
Italian reports saying that our €10m bid was turn down for Eder. Asking for €15m. I'm smelling another Quagliarella saga brewing.
Football League Zone @TheFLZone Hull City defender Curtis Davies could leave the club in January with Bournemouth preparing a bid. #HCAFC
No thanks, they're welcome to him. I know a lot of people have been quite keen on Davies for a few years, but while he has stretches where he plays very well, he can also be absolutely dreadful. He's now the wrong side of 30 and I think we can do a bit better actually
I agree, I only posted it up because he seems to have taken over the mantle vacated by Shola Ameobi in recent times
I'd have definitely signed him 2/3 years ago, though agree with Rob in saying that his star appears top have waned and I think we need to set our sights a bit higher
My interest in him disappeared a few years ago. Can't think of many CB's from the Championship I would have.
It posted it twice, and it wasn't even an interesting point. So editing over it with this. Which is much more exciting
I think there are a few we should consider and, tbh, the risk that we will be relegated is pretty high so I think getting a player fromt he Championship who would be prepared to continue playing for us if we went down might not be a bad idea - less risky than an expensive overseas player, even if the reward would be lower. Save buying overseas players for the summer. Michael Hector would have been ideal, but our relegation rivals Chelsea nabbed him unfortunately. I don't really know much about him, but Lewis Dunk is apparently a key part of Brighton's success so far this season (I hadn't quite appreciated that they are still unbeaten in the league!) but whether they'd be prepared to sell I don't know - he wouldn't be cheap in any event. And I know people might sneer because he's a bit of a lumbering oaf, but Grant Hanley isn't all that bad a player and he's the dominant CB we need, together with a goal threat. I would fear for him up against the level of player at the best clubs, but if we were relegated I think he'd be very solid. Plus he'd fit in easily knowing several of our players.
