Agreed. Even when Fergie left I didn't want him to be the united manager. There was something about him which indicated self obsession, self promotion, short termism, meanness, cruelty, "throwing people under the bus" (the doctor). The chav fans were crowing about snatching up from United but I wasn't disappointed. After the Chelsea debacle I would definitely not recruit him. If we can't get Pep, we should go for an experienced European manager with the right credentials.
He didn't last all that long back then though either, obviously he did well for the first couple of seasons but then things began to slowly unravel and that's why he was sacked in 2007. Terry and Mourinho never actually got on all that well towards the end of his first spell either, so i don't think he was always one of his loyal players. Lampard and Drogba certainly where throughout though
You may have a point. I recall Terry had shagged Mourhino's dog which had caused him to run away from home. JT had been turned on by the fact it was a terrier which resembled his own name. This caused a feud between Jose and JT. Some claim this was the cause of JT's rabies outbreak. http://www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/jose-pet-dog-still-missing-475648
Agree too, I am very alarmed to see that he has been installed as the 6/4 favourite to be the next United manager. We are also favourites in the Mourinho next club market. You would think after 15 points in 16 games, and leaving the current champions of England in complete turmoil, would be enough to put our board off. Let's hope so anyways. Would also be a massive contrast in styles going from LVG to Mourinho
I've got to say, that I think Mourhino would be brilliant at United! Provided he could ride the dressing room revolt that could occur when he drops Fellani and Young.
Mourhino didn't always use park-the-bus football as his own option. I can remember going to watch Saints v Chelsea, during Mourhino's first stint in charge, and the controlled the entire game from top to bottom, winning 0-2. They gave Saints a masterclass in how to play football.
Don't be daft. Mourinho would make Fellaini club captain and number one striker. After all, he is basically Costa with an afro...
Seriously hope he doesn't come to us, hopefully we will go for Ancelloti rather than Pep (and we might even get CR7 as a bit of a bonus too)
Peps significantly better than journey man Carlo. I like the idea of winning the league. Its kind of what United are about. So you can take your cup manager, who is a short-term only appointment, and stick him.... Right at Bayern Munich. Carlos a yes man. You will hate him within weeks.
How can you call Ancelotti a journeyman? The guys proven to be a world class manager, and is one of the best of his generation. He's still won league titles in England and Italy, aswell as a record 3 CL titles. We as a club could do with getting a few more CL titles some day, and who better to do that than Ancelotti
Quite easily. He spent 8 years at AC, and won 1 title. He then started travelling Europe, winning 3 more titles but none were special. He happens to have the richest 3 clubs in the world after AC and his record is poor. For someone considered as one of the very best. He doesn't build bteams, he doesn't work well with younger players, he needs an established set up. He's a more attacking Mourinho without the attitude.
Tbf, we will double our trophy haul before your increases by one. Long before. Do you expect your great great great grandkids will be alive for Spurs next trophy
