Watford is going to stay tight at the back and not be adventurous or give us space. Benteke would be a mistake in this fixture.

I say we play Sturridge and just tell him to hop.

Maybe... they will probably bully our lot off the park though and no benteke would then prove a point to you. its not JUST benteke. the guys supplying him are letting hi mdown by not playing it faster, one touch (not long ball)

I don't disagree about that. He's not being supplied. Coutinho back should help him out though.

might do but they have to stop believing their own hype as usual and start listening to klopp and do the work.

Benteke is being supplied!! Look at the number of crosses and long balls we play into him. Look at the sitters he's missed as well which I believe around 4-5 by now!

How do you create for a striker who doesn't move!!

The creative players do have to do more - I agree, but if you want to make the argument about Benteke not getting the service, then you can say the same for the creative players who are looking for an outlet which they don't have.

Watch Benteke and his movement is so static and when he does move, he always drifts towards the far post. He's also unbelievably reactive. We need proactive players.

Which players have played well with Benteke this season? No one.

Klopp is a develop of players but he's not a miracle worker. Benteke is 25 - to coach a player his age is difficult especially when said player is not particularly that talented in the first place.

Klopp will have more joy working with Origi than Benteke because a) Origi is more suited to klopps style and b) he's young enough to be coached.

I'd reward Origi and start with him. If the game goes tits up, then bring on Teke and just stick him in the box as a nuisance.
I really hoped teke would be better than he has turned out to be. Ah well there's always more money to piss away on the next striker.

  9. Play Firmino up top with Coutinho and Lallana behind like we did a few games ago. Worked a treat them so why not try it again?

Depends if we expect Watford to give us space or not. If we expect there to be space that can work quite well.

If Watford keep it very tight then it will require something more than a false 9.

If we played it v west brom and crossed it in and nobody was there there'd be complaints about that too

This tactic worked v city as city leave huge spaces so if you pressed quick there were huge gaps to play in.

    Simple.

If Watford sit their CMs back there will be enough to close down if we win it back and we can't just go for the jugular each time we win it.

We played best in 10 years with sterling Suarez sturridge and coutinho breaking fast and reina getting it going quick. A corner against us was lethal on numerous occasions.

We have lallana and firmino now AS WELL as benteke so this thought of "a style" to me is nonsense. We don't have a style. Not yet under Klopp. This is all to come. We have what we have and if we worked better together and played it just a bit quicker we'd see far better..

    Against a massed defence?

Again did I not say play it earlier only about 5 times about what we are doing and passing it with more precision

It's not about tossing it in only. It's about speed.

Look at how many times you see ibe or lallana or Clyne or milner hold the ball and hold it rather that get it moving. They all seem to need to look for the perfect ball or take 5 touches to decide what to do.

And it's not cos benteke on his own provides no option cos frankly they do this when passing to each other.

Look it's like this. Barca are not the best example but they are the best proponents of moving the ball around constantly offering constant different angles to cover and pull guys out of place.

We on the other hand need 5 touches and there is no gaps in the oppositions defence by the time we pass so it goes sideways.

    Release the thing.

  14. And you see us suddenly changing and putting early crosses in? Something we've not done for years?

I actually agree with you but it's not going to happen.

He has two men marking him because he doesn't move.

And yes - that is how you supply him. How else will you? By playing through balls to him? Playing intricate short passing with him?

That's not his fault. He has a particular style which he is good at. Unfortunately he doesn't have the ability nor any evidence to suggest that he can adapt to a more fluid and dynamic style.

I'm sorry MITO, I didn't want to be the one to deliver the bad news but I had to say this. I know it hurts but in time, you will know I'm saying this because I love you.

Well our manager is famed for playing a certain way which doesn't involve a large volume of aimless crosses.

So yes - the past does have something to do with it. Unless you want disregard the last 7 years at Dortmund.

Benteke doesn't score off much. 5 goals in 14 appearances.

Origi 4 goals in 14 appearances and has probably played less minutes.
