Thanks OFH - however if things do turn worse again I may have to leave the board again without notice so if I suddenly disappear please be ready to do the threads or ask someone to do them. Hopefully we are entering calm waters for a while
Leo, my thoughts and prayers and best wishes to you and your wife, I hope the waters stay calm over Christmas and New Year!
I'm still waiting for the 'greens' on this site to proclaim how democratically unfair the French voting system is. The FN achieved 27.73% of the vote but ended up with limited representation. The FN's only consolation was to purge the socialists from control of many regions.
That's a real rum deal you have all been handed, I feel for you. If nothing else at least be assured that your good lady is getting the most expert care available as I know that the Royal Free is at the top end of oncological treatment; my sister is a specialist oncology nurse and she tells me these things. I hope you all manage to have an enjoyable Christmas.
Sorry to hear that, Leo. Never easy to have a loved partner facing such things. Hope you're both able to enjoy the "relief" over Christmas.
i have just had some fantastic news that my nephew a Greek police lieutenant has been exonerated and found innocent of all charges after an Albanian illegal immigrant was injured in the cells in his police station 6 years ago. The trial alone has gone on for 18 months and almost bankrupted the family over there with legal fees.... It was a show trial and there was no evidence at all against him... but the prosecution wanted to make an example of the officer in charge and in his summing up was asking for 5 years in prison... been terrible for A who had his passport taken off him. Meanwhile the police service had no case against him and he was still working and running a police station ... Tonight is party night
Good morning all from a mild and dry Weston-super-Mare. I have problems with 'tinternet this morning, signal keeps dropping out Have a good day!
Thanks everyone for your best wishes. Preparing for Sunday grandchildren mahyem - how comes kids nowadays have ten times more energy than when ours were young Also - excellent news for your nephew Yorkie
Morning all, rather grey but very mild. Finished building works yesterday afternoon and no more until the New Year. Preparations underway now for Christmas, but for once we seem to be ahead of the game which is rather good. Last two presents to buy this weekend and the monthly lunch to enjoy, then I will hope for some good weather and a spell on the estate. Pleased to read your news Yorkie.
Good morning all from a very mild Weston-super-Mare, dry for now but lots of rain on the way! Have a good day and very good luck to your Golden Boys!
Morning all, a beautiful Spring like day here, so will enjoy the drive through the countryside as I go on the shopping expedition. Do we really have the best manager in the PL? Someone here thinks we do have. http://worldsoccertalk.com/2015/12/...es-has-been-the-premier-leagues-best-manager/
It is certainly arguable. If you measure the progress we have made; nobody has made more. Only six managers have teams above us and all of them barring Leicester are close to where they were a year ago - even Ranieri took over a team which had an excellent end to last year. Too early to fear he will be poached perhaps but he will be on one or two clubs radars already I suspect
Since returning from Tenerife this week I have particularly noticed how grey and miserable the Uk weather is. I miss the brighter days of S.W. France. Hopefully a little ray of sunshine at the Vic tomorrow.
Sunny and warm here - now if you want grey and miserable move to west Wales - in 5 years we saw the sun once
