In this division we should be more concerned with ripping other teams to shreds than being too defensive minded.
McGregor was really impressive last night I thought, he went ****ing mental at Odubajo for kicking it out when one of their players was injured.
It's easy to say that but even teams like Reading at the bottom of the table have better offensive players than us, if it came down to a case of 'see how many we both score' I think Vydra and Blackman would beat Hernandez and Akpom.
You must be watching a different game to me he has neither , he plays because he covers Robertson , as a winger he is very limited at this level
If he was able to beat a man every now and again we would look more dangerous going forward , one player beat his man last night and resulted in the winning goal , clucas looks lost when trying to take a player on
Id love to see a marketeer come up with an overarching communications strategy implementing both proactive and reactive public relations messaging to be fed back in to the client whilst adopting the Barcelona principles.
This is the problem we worry far to much about defensive cover , we need to attack more , with Livermore and Meyler in the middle we should have more than enough cover it's practically a back six
We give great respect to the weakest teams in this division. If you attack you push the other team back they can't threaten that much. The problem with Huddlestone is that he is too slow and doesn't really have the movement and passing to threaten. Elmo is one dimensional. We let the other team have first crack in every game, they are the ones coming forward. It's partly due to the negative tactics of Bruce.
Yeah but you can't expect us to 'rip other teams to shreds' when we play four primarily defensive midfielders, a kid from Arsenal and one good striker. Most people on here think that's the midfield we should be playing but also expect us to score a load of goals. The fact is that the run of 2-0 and 3-0 wins with this team was an anomaly as all our creative players are on the bench.
Clucas taking on opponents led to the first City goal. OK after going past one player in good style he lost possession but then he got it back and put in a good ball. Clucas must be your permanent scapegoat if you can't give him a lot of credit for the first goal.
Their goal is amazing, Genuinely amazing. If Barcelona scored it the media would be ****ing for a week.
This is the first time I've seen a replay of their goal, and it's so obvious what their strikers offered compared to ours last night. Vydra was willing to come deep to link up the play whereas ours just stood there waiting for the blast to the wing from Maguire. Edit: Also with our second goal, how cool were Snodgrass and Maloney under pressure while everyone else was flapping around?
It should be the manager having a melt down, but instead he stand hands in pockets or running his fingers through his hair like some Herbal Essences Tv advert...
I was impressed with him smothering Mcshane at corners actually, I think Macca was desperate to get on the scoresheet v us and Maguire owned him basically
Clucas did brilliantly with the first goal too composure wise, I think there is so much more to come from him this season
