Wish you had if only to drown out those awful paper clappers. Issue everyone with a vu vu zela if you have to use anything. Where is that fat drummer boy these days ?
The clappers are brilliant. Kids in the East stand and Family Stand that would otherwise remain quiet go mental with them, encouraging more and more people to sing and create an atmosphere. But you're more than welcome to sit in silence if you prefer.
The clappers are a bit naff, but they're the best of the things that have been tried so far, at least the kids like them and it does increase the noise levels.
The clappers make a load of noise - artificial noise I know but, our atmosphere isn't a patch on what they were generating at Leicester .............. even when they were chanting ''going down with the Leicester'' to us last season.
We've had the clappers before and it's worked although not everyone's cup of tea. It certainly didn't get the backlash that goal music has, which makes a further mockery of claims that the club get criticised for whatever they do.
Clappers are very effective. I used a City one to get the attention of our players on the team I manage. Problem is, all the ****ing players turned round at once and they invariably took their eyes off the opposition. Gave up on the idea.
I can't recall seeing one, but I guess if someone had made such a claim, there's a possibility it would be a mockery, as long as you ignore the posts and comments that did, and do deride clappers. I've seen it said that whatever they try seems to be met with negativity and derision.. and with the odd exception, the bulk of responses from some on here seem largely negative to anything from the club. Some do seem to have their own way of reading things.
After today who can blame the club for trying summat? Worst atmosphere ever tonight. Truly appalling. Noticed there was no Steve Bruce chant against Bolton. Nowt tonight either. In fact **** all till we scored.
It wasn't great that's for sure. I am pretty sure there was an SB chant at the start of the game. I might have imagined it. Some guy in N2 started a solo SB chant just before half time, he was told by one or two in N1 ... and less than politely, to 'shut the feck up'! I thought he was being sarcastic.
I heard something Steve Bruce early in the 2nd, can't remember what it was or it may have been after we scored? Anyone know what's happened to the 19:04 chant?
The team need to give the fans something to shout about. The Allams need to do something to get the fans back in the stadium - our attendances are a ****ing disgrace.
It was **** but the chanting started before we scored. A group in the North stand obviously thought **** it let's just make some noise but we should be doing that anyway. Doesn't change anything about the goal music. It adds nothing to the atmosphere, that's as weak as saying the name change was 'tryiny something'. The fact we have such tiny crowds now and the 'hooligans' who've stopped going are obviously some of the noisiest ones is obviously the biggest reason for it. There are other reasons but to do something about it isn't just going to take some tacky ideas like goal music or even the lights (which I have no problem with, but they aren't a solution to increase the noise). Apart from getting more vocal fans back in the ground, one of the best things would be to really promote the idea of singers sitting together. Seriously push it. There's loads of fans at home who won't sing because no one near them sings. Get them all together in one corner and expand gradually from there rather than having two separate small singing sections. The seat move arguably worked last season, but with these gates it's ****e.
Which common ground should be focussed on? I've been reading these pages for a number of years and you have never been slow in finding 'injustice' - especially if it has an effect on you, your group or your principles. Does calling for fans to unite mean that those who disagree with you are Scabs? Why should the constant, needless use of 'Hull City Tigers' be ignored by the supporters and condoned by the club? Why would the club play goal music when they accept it is not appropriate to the likes of the paying customers, why doesn't common-sense prevail? How would you tackle the negative issues without discussing them?
