I thought Akpom had done really well tonight and in a way you can understand that he gets hacked off when he gets hooked all the time. I'm not saying he's deserves that in front of Hernandez, but the little I saw of Diomande for the last 15 puts Akpom well in front of him. You could say he's showing some passion for the job and I'd just pull him aside and say 'just calm down'. Fineing him as Swanny suggested would just be the thing to send him further backwards. If Bruce was a good manager and he's not, he'd get an arm around him and say 'go and prove it'.

Six points playing mainly ****. The confidence should be up on Saturday. In the now legendary five wins in a row City weren't playing exhibition stuff all the time.

When are we gonna be firing on all cylinders? After how many games do we accept that this is the norm? Bruce said we wouldn't be as bad as Leeds again. We were utterly appalling for the first half today and apparently not much better atnthe weekend. I'd love to go into games thinking this is gonna be the time we play great football and hammer someone, in fact I used to, but we've been hearing it all season and most of last too.

He did exactly what I said in that post! Akpom was worse tonight so I'm not criticising him but he still does nowhere near enough in open play and is one of many factors in us creating so few chances. He was getting frustrated at himself tonight, jumping about and stamping. He's far from the biggest problem, but he still needs to do more.

On top of that, rolling on the floor holding his face trying to get their defender sent off. I hate that. It's totally embarrassing. Elmo was trying it on a bit today too.

We'll have to agree to disagree on this one then because I think he did the opposite of what you said.

Reading between the lines of your comments, you think Hernandez is a pussy who won't get stuck in and can only score a tap in created by others.

Well I'd say he got well stuck in to fashion the chance for his goal and it was his positioning that created the tap in.

I agree with the holding face to get players sent off malarkey. But Hernandez was bleeding from his nose. It takes a bit of a wollop for that to happen.

Diomande's coming back from injury, only his 2nd run out, of course he's not going to show much, Akpom did try & he did show passion but not in the right way! The good thing was he put his arms behind his back when he went face to face with Williams, for all the criticism he's got s lot of potential but needs much, much more work in training with regards to offside, passing, finishing, creating space & movement off the ball, just off the top of my head. That's mainly what a striker does as well!

Abel H got a forearm right in his face & was bleeding, how it wasn't given as a foul, I'll never know? Clucas was hacked at least twice & neither were given, maybe the ref had his views blocked, but seemed quite happy to give free kicks for soft knocks!

Spot on mate, too many posers swanning around instead of doing the basics right from the world go. We wont get away with it against the better sides aka Derby of late.

Look how much difference Hernandez makes up front. Forget the tap in, he can actually control a ball and lay it off to someone, something actually sticks up front.

The problem is, the rest of the team is too busy defending so there's no one to lay it off to.

    Bruce out.

    Understatement or what? <laugh>

    It was horrible.

    It's been horrible since.

It will continue to be horrible.

I bet Stephen Quinn sat on the bench in utter dismay that he left, he'd love playing this negative boring ****e. Just his thing. Sideways, backwards, back again, to the other side, back a bit more... Etc.

Sounds a bit like me. I can do great things in my head but when I try it on the pitch it never comes off.

Clucas has both. If he was able to beat a man every time we'd win the league by a mile.

He got a forearm in the face and was bleeding from the nose as a result. There was no play acting, and suggesting there was defines the lack of objectivity some have when it comes to Hernandez.

I'm glad to see McGregor back to his best. I think Maloney is full of guile.
