someone who can't pass is nowhere close to being a great midfielder - we fluked that big time - we are nowhere near Prem standard - we've gone massively backwards in the form book in the last few months- if we hadn't got relegated and we played like that we would be below Villa and Brucie would have been sacked already - in theory the players are good, in practice they're ****e at the moment
Wouldn't be surprised to see him leave in January even though we are short of centre halves. Something must've happened behind the scenes - I mean how come he is never captain anymore - even in the absence of Dawson? The other week Thudd was captain and tonight it was Livermore.
I thought the "you are an embarrassment" chants after Reading scored and the half-time boos were a ****ing disgrace. Any team can have a bad half. It's not like the situation was unrecoverable.
Agree completely, it was about 50/50 us being bad and them being good, it was in no way the worst performance I've seen at the KC. Also, their goal was pretty great, one of the best I've seen against us live.
No pace going forward or indeed back. Not one player who can pick a pass. No guile, no clue!!!!! Do we have anyone in midfield that can beat 10 seconds for 50 metres. As with Derby, we're back to every attack that comes at us its 50/50 if they score. I said on the other thread, if that had been at Reading it would have been 5-0. Only one player showed any passion in the first half and that was MacGregor. and Whitehursts interview summed it up.. CRAP!!! In the second if they hand;t spent so much time ****ing about we wouldn't have got back in and their injuries cost them. We are mid table at best, be under no illusion, unless something changes!!!
I haven't read this thread yet, but in summary, the first half performance was appalling, the second was much better and we were lucky to get the three points. Reading are a ****e team of time wasting ****ers, yet we made them look good in the first half (good goal though). We'll never get promoted playing like we are at the moment.
We're playing like we are and two points off the top. Imagine where we'll be when we're firing on all cylinders. Get a grip
SB did mention tonight that he would only bring a CB in, if he was better than we already have already and that would cost money, . interesting that up to now he'd ruled it out, but hinted tonight in the interview with Burnsy that if an experienced player was available then it might be a different case, as he's worried regards the lack of experience in the back four, without Dawson bit of a slap in the face for Davies with that remark.
I think you need to start reassessing your opinion of Hernandez. I can understand why you would think that of him, I really do. But the first goal came from his hard work and persistence in trying to make things happen with **** all service. Then, when the chance broke, he was Johnny on the spot. Throw in a proper celebration, where you can clearly see it means a lot to him, and I think we have a born again player this season.
Elmo has been bad most of the season. What really made his name was the workrate and the fact that all Bruce's tactics went through him, resulting inevitably in him getting some assists.
I personally think Hernandez is very much a team player and without him this season we'd be nowhere near!!!.. He could and should have been greedy when he fed Akpom in and he nearly scored a worldy early in the second half.
Basically poor first half, credit to McGregor for keeping us in the game. Second half much better, thought Snodders looks good when he came on, can't be far of getting a start. 3 points what matters, all teams are going to have a sticky patch sometime in the season, let's hope this is our only one an we can kick on from here.
I wonder if Akpom has picked up on some bad vibes from senior pros like Davies and felt entitled to act out because of it, wouldn't surprise me at all that as it exactly how an immature kid would behave. Big positive tonight for me was Harry Mag again, he is keeping his head and getting on with the job when paired up with somebody who potentially has had his nose put out of joint and doesn't want to be there
