I went to Mellow Mushroom website for them It is: 10 inch small. 14 inch medium 16 inch large. MM is more a quality over quantity type place though. Most pizza places in US are about quantity/price over quality. Marcos comes in sizes 10", 12", 14", and 16". Again, no 18" pizza confirming that quality pizzas over here are probably same size as pizzas over there. Its the junk places that make the giant ones typically.
Fck knows what decade the cinemas in liverpool are still ascribing to. Here in modern England plenty of cinemas have between 25 to 30 screens with anywhere between 200 to 500 seats in each screen depending on popularity of film and usually 3 or 4 screens dedicated to showing the most popular flick. The advance booking is brilliant. The cost of tickets is what's a disgrace. At what point did the price go from under a fiver to almost fcking ten quid in some places. The corporate multiscreen complexes have created a total fcking monopoly. As for Star Wars, a very good film... Spoiler Darth Vader dies in the end
Sure there are. I 5hink you hit the nail on the head it's a monopoly these days I think.... the price is not competition.
It's a fcking piss take. I don't buy their crappy overpriced popcorn where they don't actually do toffee popcorn anymore and the bottom half of every box is just shed loads of overcooked unpopped corn. The drinks are soda pish. It's fcking annoying because you go to these places and as you're paying the extortionate prices for 2 hours of entertainment you know full well you're being rinsed but cannot do anything about it. I can't remember who said they were going to for the VIP seats but that's even worse. You pay an extra £2-3 per person to sit on imitation leather. I have a great idea for a cinema. You pay the same price, but you get glass fronted VIP rooms where you and your mates have a bar and can smoke (or puff the goodness, depending on your pleasure @SuckMyKlopp ) all provided by a dedicated waiter for every room. Now THAT would be worth every fcking penny!
you seen the queues for the plebs to rush into star wars to find a seat... the 2 quid is to have a seat not get in that rush and not get stressed out. its ****ing mobbed right now. my lot went to something called sisters last night leaving me on my own and said the QUEUES to get to star wars screens was madness. As i said... paying for a seat is civilised its like having the BA or luftansa or any other civilised airline experience (bad but you can manage) or having the scum for a ryanair cheap flight to europe where everyone wants the first 2 seats and its stupid. simple really.
That was me, it's only because we're going on New Years eve and splashing out on the kids. Not something I've ever done before or will do often. I am looking forward to it though. #posh
You dont need to with most other films. Wait for the adverts to finish and then just move onto the VIP seats Cant do it with Star Wars though bcos they'll be full.
that is true 95% of the time for sure. The thing is is my main thing is central seating and mid to back seating. if its a midweek show usually you've a pretty good chance I find nobody moves into vip chair if someone sits on outside
They are mid level and raised so that nobody is directly in front of you and are usually large armchair type things.
very slightly different.. a head rest usually, but more leg space for sure and a bit wider though not that much. they are typically a few rows in the upper middle of the cinema in what might be considered the best view... though i like further back as well. Overall the only thing worth €2 is a) convenience of knowing my ticket is booked (but i could book the pleb seats too) b) no stress over seat ergo no rush ergo better frame of mind for film c) assure of my view... ie is central not to side
Remember parents taking us to cinema to see one of the Pixar films in the v. late 90s / v. early noughties with the two brothers who used to live next door when we were nippers, both of them pissed themselves during the film
I remember the first and only trip to cinema i got as a kid in 80s. go-bots. please log in to view this image It was a tiny cinema i think and i loved it. But we couldn't afford going much.
It's even more expensive now and not really worth the money or good value for it. Has anybody mentioned that ??
yes... treble mentioned that. I do think however as a proportion of income the ticket itself isn't that much but the other stuff which is all imported from USA... popcorn.. mega cups of drinks sweets 4 times the cost i nthe shop down the street. IF you were to bring 2 kids to cinema and pay full prices its cost £100. if you go on offer and bring own stuff in a bag.. £15... its crazy
