I would settle for sign Bennett on loan for rest of season (Norwich will want to wait to see if they stay up) sign Baker (or extend loan to end of season) get Matt Smith (would love to see him and Kodjia) sign quality centre mid
So what I think I am trying to say albeit in a long winded way is that I believe there is no quick fix to our current plight, we need to establish ourselves as a Championship side to attract players and this will take time, again purely conjecture on my part but I believe that probably around 90% of the Championship are a more attractive proposition than us at present I agree with a lot of what you're saying here but there will be an awful lot of disillusions supporters, me included, if we surrender the place in the Championship that we worked so hard to get without at least trying to make amends for what didn't happen last Summer during the next transfer window. There are plenty of players and home and abroad, and I'm sure of sufficient quality, that would love to play Championship football here. If we fail to land anyone, whether it's permanent or loan deals in January, then to me it will show that the board/owner are more than happy for this vast city to have its main football team yo-yo ing between L1 and the Championship and that's shocking if true. We may as well all pack it in if that's the extent of their ambition, and to have a white elephant of a stadium to go with it. Interesting that SC's latest comments are basically saying we're nowhere near good enough to compete with the likes of Derby. I quite agree. We are a long way away from being good enough to trouble even most mid table teams. It'll be interesting to see how we react to last nights drubbing. Charlton at home on Boxing Day is a must win game. No excuses. I cant see us getting anything against QPR.
I have been told exactly the same thing, what is a medical for. He must be costing a fortune sat on the bench.
We screwed up with the other results but 7 points from Hudds Derby QPR Charlton are in line ..... Hull Rotherham BBurn should have been 4 also
Don't you find it amazing that there is no clause in these loan contracts, to say, that if a player goes out on loan and is unfit or carrying an injury he can be returned immediately to his parent club with no financial penalty. Bit like buying something from argos that does not work and having to keep it just in case it starts working at some point in future. Players have values and therefore you would think the sale of goods act covers us buying and returning players that are not fit for purpose.
Would keep Kodija, Bennett and Baker who are championship material. Smith and Fielding also but otherwise, I feel we need wholesale changes.
Cox must be costing a fortune in wages, not even scored a goal for us as well, seems another crazy bit of business by the club
I can tell you the absolute truth but don't tell anyone as its top secret, apparently our club doctor wears those really thick rimmed glasses and has terrible eyesight, on the day we brought Cox in he forgot his glasses and missed the fact that Cox has one leg 3" shorter than the other one but wears a 'built up' boot to make up for it.. Cotts is fuming cos Cox keeps running around in large circles during training. This would obviously make our club look totally incompetent so please don't tell anyone, this was told to me by a very good source from a guy who lives rough in the Bearpit and was drinking hand sanitiser at the time.
I think we need replacements for Fielding, Williams, Ayling, Pack, Agard and Wilbraham. Will we get 6 for this lot in January, I doubt it and highlights the poor judgement shown by SC/Board last summer. The gap between L1 and the Championship is frightening.
It is, we all knew it would be. Its a huge gulf, chasm, gap, whatever you want to call it. We all knew...... That is apart from our own hierarchy at BCFC, seemingly. If players come in during January I'm pretty sure we wont get 6 but 3 or 4 might just work the oracle....
I watched the QPR and Brighton game yesterday and the commentator stated that the Championship has become one of the toughest divisions in the world in which to compete yet alone get promoted from. Both teams will tear us apart from what I saw with speed and clinical finishing and if you combine this with the venom I have seen in many of our competitors I think the chances of us surviving get slimmer by the day. Frankly I am wondering whether Bristol City have enough footballing business acumen to know what to do when it comes down to the crunch and just in case they didn't understand what is meant by "crunch" it means get it fixed now. We are like sheep without a shepherd and wind up following the wrong sheep home, and I can't see us changing track from the past managerial decisions, or lack thereof, that has led us back here. We deserve better but I can't see it happening because if you look back at the last 10 years we have basically been saying the same old rhetoric followed by total lack of action to fix the problems.
Brighton beat us 2-1 earlier this season Mike so hardly tearing us apart. Also you need to bare in mind that we've never been beaten on Sky TV since Cotts has been in charge so based on that and your assumption (in March you saw us and was orgasming about it) we should be up there.
Ive done 45 years, same for me. I would rather do something else more enjoyable and less stressful. Cant stomach league one especially as it will be down to incompetence, again.
A sign of the times, my birthday is the 11th January, today I was trying to arrange s birthday get together for me, my son and my 3 older grandsons against Preston, my son is working away and now my 3 3rd generation are being left out of my will, I know they will all be back but the future looks bleak unless we can have a miracle on main street.
