I can understand Rosicky's return problems, due to his age, but the Welbeck and Wilshere injuries are particularly worrying. Welbeck wasn't so injury prone but now doesn't seem to have a return date and Wilshere's injuries are becoming a joke. We must bare in mind that these guys are taking up valuable squad spots and if they are not able to reliably come back, then there is little point in having them. We do not want another Diaby case!
I'm bring a bit hard on Welbeck as this is first big injury, but Wilshere is a problem we need to address by the end of the season.
I'm not sure, as I'm never been convinced we needed Welbeck - I can see why Wenger only wanted to sign him on loan, because he provided good cover while Giroud was injured, but then in the summer he restricted our ability to sign true quality - and he is way behind Giroud and Theo. And since he's signed for us he's been injured for about a third or half his time!
I agree, Welbeck was only brought in due to desperation and low numbers. I'm still not convinced that he's at the required level and whether there's a spot for him when we have everyone back. Remember we have Gnarbry who is on loan and OXO who are potentially better players than Welbeck. He's not a winger and not good enough to displace Giroud or Walcott from the CF position. Wilshere is another who's spot is questionable. I can't remember the last time he was fit for more than a few games. When people talk about Wilshere, they still talk about his potential, which is damning considering he's been playing for ages and is 24 in Jan. As it stands, he would not displace Ozil, Cazorla or Ramsey. He was suppose to be the main man, but he's so far done little to justify his place in our starting 11. But he's lucky, he's English and called Wilshere, it always helps to sell shirts....
