I thought there was a rule against lower league teams entering. At least there was if they won fa or league cup.

 

I'm not sure about CL qualification. I remember when Everton were doing well in the EL but not in the league, reading an article that said they could potentially win the EL, qualifying for the CL and also end up relegated - so who knows? I don't know a newspaper I trust 100%.

 

A rule banning teams that qualified legitimately but from a different league tier sounds highly unjust.

I can't see how anyone can justify banning a team from the championship that otherwise qualified.

 

I agree but maybe a name change from Champions League would be in order.

 

I think they were doing it on financial tests and stadium tests

Bradford made cup final once if they won they could not go forward.

 

That's been the case ever since they, ironically, called it the Champion's League whilst extending it to include non-champions .

Leicester have richer owners than both Chelsea and Man City. Given their position, I can see them splashing the cash in January to make a real push for the title. Problem is, that can have just as bad a affect as injuries sometimes!

 

nominally yes but its all corrupt money over there.

YOu just don't know really if the rules actually allow them to or not... thats the thing now about ffp being watered down. Leicester should not be able to spend 50mil this winter.

and i actually think it'd be really counter productive for them to do so. just as you allude to I think 3/4 new faces could knock them back

 

I'm sure they will have had the rules checked
