He stops off at the Netherlands on the 5th December. Not as clever and as quick as he makes out to be, is he? Deceiving fat bastard
I know loads of Jews and even a couple of Muslims who 'do Christmas'. Nowadays, it's more of an excuse for family to come together, eat together and drink together and end up arguing with each other and hating each other for the following 364 days. It doesn't make you a hypocrite for joining in on something that's fun, religious people get to enjoy all of the great things in this world that had absolutely nothing to do with god.
I am a sort of atheist...in that I certainly think there is evil in the world and I kind of hope there is good force who is a light to the dark that at times seems to be winning..Daesh ffs. My son when he was younger reckoned he was a Jedi. I am also not the only one who at this time of the year remembers those who are not with us, getting drunk and drinking too much, grandkids seem to have given Christmas a revival for me I have my cards to do but cannot seem to get going.... presents have bought a couple...what would we do without the internet!
There's an atheist and 2 Muslims in our house! Christmas is massive in our house! For exactly the reason you say TJ! It's all about family! We try and keep religion out of it. Actually, thinking about it, no we don't. It just doesn't come into it all.
Them hence the4 Nee bucking just 4 slappers and me having fun in the wee hours. Only drinks involved. No parting of cash. 4 mingers takibg turns. Already got 2 of them in agrewment for a ffull night of filth. And they are right into each other. Yes
Xmas telly 40 years ago for me, Morecambe and Wise, the two Ronnies, Max wall, Val doonigan in his rocking chair, Carry on Christmas, Les dawson, Dixon of dock green (someone murdered with a xmas pudding !) the black and white minstrels !, seaside holiday special featuring pan's people and the King's singers (from Bogna regis in the middle of winter) Steptoe & Son, Are you being served, Starsky and hutch, the generation game the list goes on, and not to mention chopper bikes, clackers, buckaroo. The blue peter lighting the xmas candle was fairly exiting as was the elephant crapping all over the floor, ah those were wonderful days.
Out of that list, the only ones i would have liked and watched are Morcambe and Wise, The Two Ronnies, Carry on Films and Steptoe and Son..
I can still burst out laughing at the thought of Max Wall and that bloody walk of his. He could stick his backside out so far his spine must have been like an elastic band!
and yet the Tv stations are still regurgitating the same tired crap from 40 years ago for our Christmas viewing - so glad I seldom watch the bloody thing nowadays
I just wish it would bloody snow, so I could get the ski's on....bloody 8+ forecast for the 24th/25th. It's crap. Give me a snow-covered -15, cold and crispy.
Just popped into one the many Eastern European shops that dotted all over the area - the proprietor was selling home made Romanian wine by the litre-age - he gave me glass to sample it was bloody nice so I brought 5 litres for £15 quid - just hoping it's not full of anti - freeze so if you don't hear from me over the holidays...
That's not the real santa, mate. That's some dodgy Bishop and his side-kick, black Pete, selling skunk to the masses.
I'll have a full team of outlaws on Xmas day who wont even bring a bottle of milk round the tight b*stards. Muggins here will be paying for all the scran, providing the location and supplying the booze. I normally have a little siesta about 4 ish and just lie sprawled out on MY front room floor just to make things awkward for the tw*ts. Already informed the wife that next Xmas day its just us or a divorce solicitor. Her choice. Love the prezzies bit mind. I will receive my annual supply of socks Zzzzs.
I love Christmas for many reasons including the religious aspect and the rest. We've just had our work's do today which was a pleasure, we have great staff and it was a lovely meal. Everywhere here is decorated and ready. We've already been in the NE, over the last two weekends, to see all the family so that's done. I'll be in London on Saturday, for the Chelsea match, so will enjoy seeing all the lights & manic shoppers. I love the religious part of Christmas and believe it has more effect on people than they realise. It's perhaps a soppy thing to say but, somehow some way, every year a little bit of magic appears through the haze of all the eating, drinking, shopping, celebrating, etc. People are that bit nicer to each other and I believe Christmas brings us all together whether we choose to admit it or not. That doesn't happen at any other time of year and I love it. The things we do and say at this time of year, that we don't at any other, are the best in my opinion. I hope everyone has the best Christmas possible and embraces the true meaning.
