How do folk cope? It's doing my head. Just found a house to rent but because of my leaving date(2nd Jan) I can't take that house because the agent is still closed for the holiday.

References, guarantors this that and the other **** holds up time which I'm running out of. It's doing my head in :headbang:

I'm panicking mate. Because of disability and pending homelessness I qualify as priority with housing associations and council. This requires a joint app but as George already has an app in from before we got together she need to close it before we can put our joint one in but guess what? The system is having problems with closing her app. Chances of getting a house through an agent is virtually non existent now. It's just a ****ing nightmare from start to finish.

Wouldn't care. I've got the money, references and Guarantor all ready but the 2nd is Saturday (the day I have to leave). Most estate agents aren't handing keys over till the 4th and my evil **** of a land lady won't budge. ARGH!!!!!!!!!

Your landlady is a ****. I'm assuming she knows full well that there's two people living in the property with disabilities and she can't let you stay an extra two days? **** off.

Forget about the homeless situation, that isn't happening. If you and your lass need somewhere for a couple of days, week, whatever. My doors open to you, I'd never see anybody on the street, especially with your circumstances.

I wish I had a property for yous, I really do. Me and our kid aren't looking to buy now though until certain things play out.

    Your landlady man :steam:

I tell you what. Robinsons estate agents are big player in the Durham area. Avoid them as if your life depends on it if you need to rent. They are entirely Landlord friendly and care very very little to tenant needs. It's the last Agent anybody letting wants to be get into bed with.

Will the agents of the new place not allow you to maybe pay an additional few days rent and take the keys early? We have done that for tennants in the past?

Me and the other half moved into our first home together in Jan this year and were pretty lucky that it all went through without much hassle (apart from the solicitors).

Good luck with it mate hope it gets sorted & great gesture from @Safc83.

    P.S. Your landlady is a ****.

Cheers fella. I'll know it will get sorted, it's just the stress, just want to bury my head. I can't sleep but when I do get my head down I can't get up and face the day.

Accommodation if I need to wait a few days is not the problem. I'll get a b&b for a few days. It's the house full of furniture and two cats which is the problem.

So you've got an 'evil **** of a landlady' Bri. :emoticon-0112-wonde
We know you quite well, and you can be that sort of person, too :emoticon-0100-smile
Don't go until you're ready . . . . she's, presumably, given you notice, and you've agreed to be out by Saturday 2nd, but she can't actually evict you without a court order :emoticon-0145-shake
Getting a court order would take at least 2 months, so you should have plenty of time to sort yourself out (you'll probably/hopefully not need that long, like) :emoticon-0148-yes:

    Summary

You've got to be selfish in a predicament like this :emoticon-0130-devil
If you aren't sorted by the 2nd stay where you are . . . . and go when it's right for you :emoticon-0105-wink:

The place I've found the agent closes on the 23rd and doesn't open till the 4th and won't pass keys early. It's like the only house in my price range at the moment with isn't disgusting or damp.

It's looking like it could have to be a council house. ****ing love housing estates with my mental health problems. They go together like chocolate cake and beef gravy(which Rooch will probably love).

Our lass works for the NHS so we actually got 10 or 15% discount. I also think they must have billed us wrong as we paid about £650 quid when we were expecting about a grand - didn't ask the question needless to say.

But yeah, basically they did bugger all but slow things down & cause us grief.

Will you not have your reference before you tell her about this, and will you not already have your new house by the time that you get it anyway (and you can always explain the circumstances) ?

Yeah, be proactive mate. If it comes to you staying in the property, I take it you will have signed for the new property but can't have the keys? (well not signed but made an upfront payment to secure it) Just simply speak to your new landlord/landlady/estate agent, face to face regarding the circumstances. I'm sure they would understand.

Good luck with it and use us for support during the process <ok>

Where are you moving to anyways?

Well I'm waiting on the landlord if they'll take the cats. If I can get the money and references and guarantor all in before Christmas eve I'll tell Robinsons I'm moving on the 4th, if they don't like it they can cry. Can't sign the tenancy until the moving day though.
