The best fight night I've seen for a while, they were certainly not the one-sided fights many predicted. Disappointed for Luke, but he was well beaten, he didn't really look right from the start.
I read Luke Campbell's father is fighting cancer so that might explain him being under-par, good luck to his dad and to Luke who will rebuild his career I am sure
Dylan Whyte. "I can for sure knock this man out. First round went to him, but was no surprise. I knew he was gonna start fast anyway & try & bang me out but I knew it weren't gonna happen early. Erm, I came back into the fight, I had him out on his feet. It was like he was stumbling around. You know I hit him & he stiffened up. He was like that. (pulls funny face). But you know, at the same time I hit him my shoulder went so I couldn't really finish him off.My trainer said "do you wanna stop the fight or whatever" but know man I'm not gonna let these fans down I'm gonna come out & not worry about my shoulder (or summat like that, couldn't really understand his lingo)." " I'm not making any excuses but I believe I can beat him & not only beat him I believe I can knock him out. I proved to everybody, everybody was giving me one round, two rounds, 30 minutes, (bit more jibber jabber), be half a round a round & a half but I went out there, it was a 50/50 fight until I got caught, you know what I mean so I just for.. listen I prove not to myself but everybody in the world & in Britain & in err Great Britain that I'm just as good fighter as him & that's what I been saying the whole time, just as good as him. We're both heavyweights who can both bang & one of us is gonna go asleep, unfortunately it was me but you know that's heavyweight boxing." "Honestly, if I threw those punches after the bell one million percent I would have been disqualified. I can bet my life on it, if I threw them punches after the bell I would have been disqualified but you know I'm not gonna make excuses man the referee didn't disqualify me so I'm sure the referee made the right decision. I'm not gonna say oh he should have been disqualified, he should have been disqualified. I let the people decide what they think you know what I mean, but he's a dirty fighter. he been doing that a lot lately hitting people after the bell. I don't know whether he wants people to think that he's more nasty than what he is or whatever, I don't know why he done it but you know. So he hit me after the bell, I went back after him. I'm not gonna make nobody erm nobody roll over me after the bell. I went back after him you know."
I love the last paragraph in particular, considering he was the one who through the first punch after the bell Warra arsecunt.
Joshua was dogshite. He's so straight up with zero head-movement. Whyte is technically awful and he almost had Joshua out of there in the second round. A decent boxer would have killed him off. Both were completely gassed out by round 2 ffs. He needs to be careful because if he's put in with anyone with an ounce of talent he will be taken apart. At least whyte is who he is. Joshua is the most manufactured fake I have ever seen. He was a total scumbag growing up and he's made out to be a gentleman. Off camera he's just another thug who's had a silver spoon given to him. The fracas after the bell in the 1st was all Joshua by the way.
Apparently not after the bell he didn't "if I threw those punches after the bell one million percent I would have been disqualified. I can bet my life on it"
No ones ever dq'd for throwing after the bell unless it's persistent - even then they'd have a point or two taken off first.
