Hi Guys, Just a quick comment regarding Chamberlain's reception tomorrow. I can't make the game but if you are, I'd like to express how important it is that no-one boo's him. He's made some comments, but who are we to say that we wouldn't want to play in the Premier League if we were in his position? His future is by no means decided, but if he's met with a chorus of boo's from a section of the fans, I guess that could sway him. As you are all lovely people on here, I'm sure this won't be the case, and will be met with 'I would never boo one of our players' comments. Maybe then if you're going with your mates, give them a sharp kick if they start doing it! Hope this doesn't sound preachy, but something I feel really strongly about.
I wont be booing and I also urge others not to. It will affect the whole squad negatively not just Chamberlain and it's also a day to remember ML so everything else should be put to one side. I'll be disappointed if people boo!
Booing anyone in a pre-season friendly would be extremely pathetic - as for his comments - taken out of context I'm sure. As for wanting to play in the PL - he'd have to join a club that would play him and that would mean not joining Arsenal, Man U, Man City, Liverpool, Spurs or Chelsea.
If anyone boo's around me I will set the four kids I am taking with me on them. They wont stop until blood is spilt
Just read this article, what are your thoughts? http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/southampton/fb_news.php?storyid=13280

Just watching Meridian news & they had a small section on the memorial cup tomorrow, along with quick snippet of interview with De Ridder & then with NA. NA: AOC will be playing tomorrow.
He can **** off. HE did not have to say them out in the national press in 2 interviews. He deserves it. he has shown no loyalty to the club a tall. he has played ONE season in league ONE. this does not mean that he has a god given right to play in the top four. He is just a gredy bastard
Sorry mate but that ain't Saintly behaviour, more like the old 606, you know and I know that the lad shouldn't have gone to the papers without the Clubs permission, we all know the red tops would load the questions so that they said things that would lead to misleading answers, I bet a large proportion of what he said was taken out of context. I wonder who set him up? His dad perhaps to get some cash in? I just hope that NA can sort him out and point him in the right direction, I feel a move now for him would be too soon, he will learn a lot more and play more often with us than if he went to a Premiership club, where he would be lucky to sit on the bench, he is talented, but nowhere near the finished article, if he gets injured he has the best medical team in the Football League to look after him. If it is down to personal ambition and greed, then I would have to say it is time to go, but I don't believe that is the case. If someone with the true picture can tell me I would accept it, what I won't do is listen to a load of claptrap from people that do not have the facts.
If you were his Dad wouldn't you want the best for your son? He may think Saints are only a stepping stone to success.
member that his situation is a lot different to Jason Puncheons. He hasn't said 'he wants to leave' and he is obviously happy to play for us unless anything is sorted out in regards to a move to a top PL club. Also he is a quality player and puncheon isnt!
But surely his Dad knows that he is more likely to get football at Southampton and he would rather his development progressed properly. I cannot see him advising Oxlade-Chamberlain to rush off, however I do not know the guy, just surprised everyone thinks he is the one pushing.
his dad was on SSN a month or so back stating AOC should move. Definitely a major factor in how this situation is panning out.
Quality post. The kid is 17 FFS! If he gets booed on Saturday then some saints fans are a disgrace and they'll be the ones making him take the final step. It'll be embarressing if he's booed.
