You did infer that with your gloating that the areas in question are 'Catholic' areas though. What was your reason for pointing that out?
Nope - I work with graduates and a couple of them have all the wit, wisdom and charm of a ******ed halibut. There is a serious point at play here though. It is likely that the areas identified would have a lower life expectancy than almost any other area of the UK. that would most likely mean a higher proportion of children losing parents whilst still at school or having to look after sick family than in other areas and that is likely to have a big knock on effect. Before anyone says "my mum and dad died when i was 13 and i got the highest ever score in the bar exam " I'm not saying that this would happen in all cases - just that it could be a factor among many others and not just because people in those areas are "thick"
I would say that generally speaking Protestants are smarter than Catholics, just like genaerally speaking Protestants have more money, whether that is because of repression, who can say?
