Goal music ffs. It's hard to squeeze a positive out of that happening.

I guess at least it shows that the club recognise that the atmosphere is crap, and something needs doing about it, unlike some fans that keep trying to claim it's ok.

Careful Dutch, that bold bit makes you a middle aged ****er trying to justify it.

I agree 100% with your whole post.

    You old bastard.

I don't know of any fans who think it's okay, everyone thinks it needs to be improved, but goal music is only going to make it worse.

You only have to look at Man City to see how that's entirely possible.

There's one thing for sure there's not a lot more the club can do to alienate the fans so any change has to be positive.

I've just read a thread on the fbook city forum where some woman posted agreeing with the goal music, one guy was appalled by this and voiced his 'displeasure' at this, ha ha, and subsequently got banned from the group! Hilarious

Its this kind of self-righteous attitude that's part of the problem with our fan base. It shouldn't matter if its your first game our your 1000th game, we're all there to support Hull City. How is a new fan going to feel part of the community if the older fans just look down their noses at them?

Its all about mutual respect, and whilst I agree those new fans that sit down and moan about standing are not showing you the respect you deserve I feel there's section of the old guard that show absolutely no respect to the younger fans regardless of if they contribute to the atmosphere or not.

I don't think the issue is the younger fans. In my opinion, it tends to be older ones that have latched on to City in later life, once it became fashionable. They probably went to a game or two in the 70's, and try to claim that as life long support.

All generations of our support have always had active/passive sections and have largely lived alongside each other amicably and I’d hope we all oppose the tacky monstrosity of goal music.

The issue of new fans is different. No one expects to be part of a community on their first day. Football communities have hierarchies of support, things that matter to the fanatic, length of service, away ticks, attendance in adversity ie 4th division/Dolan years etc. I don’t see this as anti-younger fans either as I’m delighted to see any Hull youth in a City shirt and by contrast I recognize thousands of our seniors only started attending regularly post-2002 stadium move. Its the Hull parents who continue to buy their kids Man Utd/Liverpool shirts whilst we are in a relatively golden era that I reserve my worst vitriol for.

I just think that it's funny how people get so wound up over a 10 second bit of music that you can't even hear if you're celebrating properly.

I have no idea whether we still play goal music. Haven't heard it for a long while.

Not since Vardy scored against Man United.

Hopefully Saturday was the first and last time we'll ever hear it at the KC.

I'm serious, I didn't hear anything against United.

Then again Vardy had just broken the record. The place went ****ing nuts.
